Hutchison would be miles too good for the Championship on 16:54 - May 3 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior
Mr TWTD himself literally said that the other day in a thread about the same topic. It’s possible he stays of course but I can see a club triggering that clause!
Phil Ham said Omari hasn't done enough this season?
OK. I missed that. I guess it depends on what you expected from him. Clearly not enough to keep us up, mind.
I must admit as regards Rutter, that I was surprised Brighton took a punt on someone sho seemed inconsistent to me. Somehow Rutter got a lot of accolades in the Championship. I don't see Leeds or another Premier League club paying £35M+ for Hutchinson.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'd put money on a team like Palace being interested - they just love taking players like him and improving them.
Takes him back to London too, would be very tempting for him.
Yep, good shout. Would be a real fit for Palace and there was some talk of Eze leaving. Not exactly like for like but certainly the type of player Omari could be.

Why not? We just paid 22M for Philogene when almost nailed on for relegation. It’s not even THAT much for an established PL team.
I guess time will tell.

Yes, Leeds' example shows that even if players appear individually too good: (a) their club is not guaranteed promotion; and (b) those players are not guaranteed to leave the Championship club.
So, we may retain Omari next year, we may not. Even if we do, we may go up, we may not.
Thanks for that Nostradamus!

Don’t see it. He’s been largely anonymous bar a few nice touches. I’d be staggered if anyone paid anything near 35m for him, given the value to be had in Europe. Think we are seeing this one through blue glasses.
Just such a dreadful take. Only way this can make sense is if you just expect him to be a highlights package every time he gets it during a 90 minute match.

That's a lazy assumption lazyblue.
If he tears it up in the European U21 Championship this summer there will undoubtedly be interest in him. No reason why he can't do that. MOM last time out.
We all know he has quality, but I'm not sure his stats show enough for a PL team to pay a big fee for him.
He has 3 goals and 3 assists this season, to put that into context Ait Nouri has 4 goals and 7 assists, Munoz from Palace has 4 and 5 and they're both full backs/wing backs.
Maybe some teams will ignore his stats and pay the £35m for him, but I hope he stays as he could be the best player in the Championship next season

He’s also playing for us, I think that’s the point.

Ridiculous question but assuming we could convince Julio to stay, would you be happy With a swap?
I wouldn't be celebrating because of our personal connection with Omari, but I think Enciso has more talent in his boots. I'm not sure we've had a player in my time properly following Town (from early noughties) who can beat a man as effortlessly as he does. Gio danced past people but he faced the mismatch of 2nd tier defenders.
I can see why Brighton have squeezed him of minutes because his play is often wildly optimistic, but I also see plenty of options for him in the PL next season should he need to move on (dropping to a few probably if he wants to be a main man).

Before his injury in too many games he’s given the ball away cheaply. Yesterday he was very good but that’s not the players we’ve seen too often.
I do think he plays better on the wing instead of through the middle though.
Yes a mid table Premiership team could come in for him but he won’t be a starter and will spend a lot of time on the bench much bettter to play every week in the Championship and improve his game further.

Kallum from the TWTV team gives his view on Omari future on this week’s Video Verdict as a response to your 3 Word summary on the topic (on Homer123 thread). Second segment of show below.
He’s a little more optimistic on keeping him, given age, perhaps a lack of end product through the season, and the slightly higher release clause.

He did really grow into the game yesterday.
Saw it cheers, thoughtful analysis as always and hope you guys continue next season as well, at least for the weekend games. I think there’s every chance someone comes in at that price tbh, time will tell.

He is a talented boy, and I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone suggest he isn’t.
But he is also incredibly raw, in a similar sense to Delap his decision making is still erratic, his numbers aren’t great, his injury record hasn’t been great and he his performances across the season have been inconsistent.
I’m sure there will be interest, whether someone coughs £30m-£35m remains to be seen - but nothing surprises me anymore in the market.

Yep given the size of these squads now and the depth needed, at £35m it's pretty much a given that they'll be interest from a number of Clubs, no doubt his agent will be weighing up the options too whilst rubbing his hands..

Only 12 months ago none of those clubs saw him as a prospect at £20m, so what has changed in the last year to make them queue up at £35m (if that figure is even accurate)?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Omari and see his massive potential, but don't see that the last 12 months will have encouraged many/any established PL clubs to pay nearly twice what it would have taken last summer to secure him as a squad player.

I am quite sure signing Philogene was meant to help us to stay up albeit that it didn't work out like that. It is also interesting that is only £2M higher than the value Chelsea and Town set on Hutchinson in the summer. Has Hutchinson nearly doubled his value this season? I think probably not but I guess we will see by the end of August.
Philogene is only 23, has added 9 Premier League appearances and 2 goals since signing. Hutchinson, though younger, has added 27 appearances, 3 goals and 2 assists.
Funny isn't it, the polarity in comments on Omari. My view is he's cheap at £35m and he'd be excellent for a mid-table PL side. I'd also imagine he'd want to leave: when we signed him permanently, comments around the move made it clear he's ambitious. In this day and age, I don't think you'll ever see a player stay at a relegated club if offers come in for them. Players are more focused on their own career trajectories then their club's, and you can't knock them for that. Omari will know what he wants his next move to be and I very much doubt it involves another season in the Championship.

You have no idea what he's thinking. He's clearly loved working and growing as a player under McKenna, maybe he thinks staying with him a bit longer is good for his development.
He's young enough, there's no rush to get onto a bigger team's bench.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Nobody knows, that's the whole point of this forum, surely?
I just think we're in cloud cuckoo land if we're hoping Hutchinson wants another season in the Champ to develop.

I think his ambition is what saw him want to play for Town in the Premier League rather than stay in Chelsea's reserves and be loaned out somewhere.
I agree his value to us is £35M+. Which Premier League clubs will spend that on him? For a promoted side that would be their marquee signing. We spent £20M or fractionally over as a maximum fee. I don't think Leicester or Southampton spent any higher. For a mid-table side that is the sort of fee they are spending for someone they expect to make an impact so would you expect him to play ahead of the players they have already in his position? I am not sure which clubs those are. That leaves a bigger club paying that for his potential and he is back where he was at Chelsea. Is that what he wants? I doubt it.
