Hutchinson was fantastic today, showed he is very much Premier League level. Delap just looked like he was out for himself today. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Delap … on 17:35 - May 10 with 1999 views | itfcsuth | Has had up and down performances like that all season, as has Hutchinson (who was outstanding today). It’s the nature of young talent, they do struggle with consistency in performances unless you are absolutely elite. Had a real purple patch around Christmas, where he was at his best, but we’ve needed more depth and support in that area all season really.

I don't think that's fair - to me he was trying to bring others into play. Gor the most part of didn't come off. Oddly, he looked out of his depth.

Delap … on 17:57 - May 10 with 1825 views | ArnieM | Delap hasn't really done much since the turn of the year. Opponents have sussed his Current he hasn't the tools in his bag of tricks atm to do much different. That's not a criticism of him. Just a statement of where he is in his develop.ent atm. It's early days for him, and McKenna has pinned our survival on his shoulders, which i ferl was Ridiculous! Hirst is currently a much better all round striker and should have been played a lot more than he has by McKenna since Hirst returned to the squad in the new year. McKenna has put a lot on Delaps shoulders to lead the line and try and keep us up. Ridiculous pressure on such a young player. But ut is what it is, and Delap will move on to another club and undoubtedly continue his development, but I just hope he's ready for a less less minutes on the pitch and being a bavk up to a more experienced striker at his new club.

No worries, it wasn't aimed at you, my reply was to Ringwood. He was the one saying Delap should be subbed 15 minutes after he already had been. To be fair to Ringwood, Hirst is now sporting a blond Barnet, perhaps he thought it was still Delap. Perhaps this is why McKenna has said there's a chance Delap stays. We're going to sell Delap but switch him with Hirst before the car taking him to his destination leaves. No one will notice, right?

Do we think the new bonnet is in response the the comments on here about bad hairstyles . It did make it easier to spot him from distance today.

He had far more than a good last 15 mins. In the early part of the game he wasn’t being given the ball, despite taking up good positions and call for it. Once he started getting given the ball, he did some excellent work.
Delap … on 07:59 - May 11 with 666 views | muccletonjoe | Have thought for the past few weeks, if Delap is going , I don't think anyone should be unduly worried . I don't know of a single team he would get into atm to be honest. Can only be the promoted clubs imo.
Delap … on 08:27 - May 11 with 629 views | Cafe_Newman | Poor bloke. He's the easiest striker in the league to double mark out of the game because of the few chances we get. Obviously, this is a huge frustration for the lad but he still gives as good as he gets but - more often than not - falls foul of the referee IMHO.. He's our top goal scorer by a long way, has one of the best goals to chances ratio in the league for a regular starter and I think George Hirst benefits from his work once opposition CBs relax when he has been subbed off. He remains one of only two players in the side (excluding loanees) which genuinely has a bright future in the EPL and at international level and all this has been achieved in his first year in the league and at a club which achieved relegation status in April. I think the expectations on him have been a little too high on him at times.
Delap … on 09:09 - May 11 with 529 views | OldFart71 | It's the end of the season and just like many fans the interest has gone. Many don't have places to fight for and will be off at the end of the season. As someone recently said about Sky matches they are just trying to drum up interest of teams fighting for European places because apart from that the season is dead. Liverpool have won the league and Southampton, Leicester and Town are down.
Delap … on 09:57 - May 11 with 406 views | ArnieM | The so called " premier" league is dead anyway. If ever there was proff it was yesterday's " game". Full of VAR stoppage time, as McKenna rightfully says, all standing around waiting fir an " event"( which was a non event snyway) to reviewed by umpteen officials watching ut over and over again in slow mo. Free for all's in the box at every corner with Brentfird players morphing into 20 stone rugby players graping/ holding/ throwing Town players to the ground. Yet strangely no VAR checks for what under football rules is a clear foul! Dangerous overhead kick on a defender who was jumping to header the ball. No VAR check on that (injured player wearing wrong colour shirt i presume), no Brentford player spoken to or booked for dangerous play. Corners being given during a VAR check that seemed to take hours, and kept being given until they scored from it, why? The Plastic League is just that, a false sense of self proclaimed superior level football, when it's nothing if the sort. It's about who cheats most, snd best. Well done Brentfird, you've done a long way You can shove this league and it's spoilt overpaid, cheating brats where the sun doesn't shine. This so called " premier" league with its pointless VAR has NOTHING to do with the beautiful game of football.
