Not a fan then? I got a bit frustrated with him early on in the Brentford game as there were a few occasions where he beat a couple of players and then went down very easily. Obviously I cant say what was going on in his mond but it looked like he was trying to get free kicks. Anyway, the ref didn't buy it and after that he he tried to keep on his feet and was all the better for it. That occasion in the second half where he got to the corner and took 3 hits from Brentford players but kept getting up and won us a corner was a prime example.

He is so far beyond any player apart from maybe cajuste that we currently have playing. No way he is here next season. He looks prem quality all day long, he will be at a mid table prem club next year. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I guess if he liked it here though & bought into the project etc, he’s exactly the calibre of player we should be after. Probably too good for the Championship, truth be told

He was a mid table prem player for Brighton before he got injured. The guy is quality. If we thought Dos Santos was ridiculous in the Championship, then this guy would be something else.

Was thinking though, would we have been in a better position if our transfers had been: NO: Hutchinson, J.Clarke, Philogene YES: Enciso, Sarmiento, Buonanotte I suspect so.

I love Sarmiento but I'd still have Hutch over him. Hutch has done well this season, remember, only his second year of men's football and still young and raw. I, honestly, think the best thing for Hutch would be another in the Champ with us.

Hutch has ok to be fair, especially in comparison to J.Clarke & Philogene - I personally think he’s had an up and down season, has had as many poor games than good, which is the nature of youth prospects - wouldn’t go overboard with him this season - but the talent is there. Agree I think another season in the Championship would be good for development. More likely be Buonanotte off the right instead of Hutch. Would have loved the look of: Buonanotte-Enciso-Sarmiento

I do like him actually, when he’s on his game he excites me. And of course he’d be great in the champ. Do think he’d spend a lot of time on the floor tho

Yeah possibly tbf - although may have got 2 on permanent. £60m for Hutch, JC & Philogene would probably get Enciso (£20m), Sarmiento would have been much cheaper (think we actually had an option on him), with Buonanotte on a loan deal. All fantasy stuff of course.

It's crazy how much talent Brighton have knocking around Sarmiento for me was a very good swap for Broadhead, they do similar jobs albeit Broadhead at the time was more consistent in general

I can’t take a whole season of watching him run with his head down, try to bundle his way past three players, fall over, fail to make a simple pass and then receive plaudits because one of the 500 shots from a silly distance he’s taken has gone in. My Dad said “he’s entertaining” - he and various other supporters appear to be easily “entertained” Unpopular opinion- I’d prefer Jeremy Sarmiento if we’re pinching someone from Brighton. Sarmiento is half the player Hutchinson is and Enciso wouldn't have signed for us permanently in the summer, not a chance, nor would he have come on loan because he hadn't been phased out of the Brighton team at that stage.

I have a huge admiration for Brighton - the way they break from model of overpaying for talent, but instead look for undervalued players - and seemingly find real talents time and time again. For me, it’s a real model in football you can making profit generating business. Mitoma, Adingra, Buonanotte, Enciso, Sarmiento, McAllister, Caicedo, Bissouma and more. Incredible transfer operators.

Obviously they have a very successful data model they follow, they are outperforming far bigger clubs in these markets frankly and clearly have a conveyor belt of players to draw from It's mad the likes of Enciso, Buonanotte and Sarmiento are only possibles for them

Makes me laugh when people slag him off. I've not seen many games he's played but you can tell with a few minutes he's clearly a level above most of our other players. [Post edited 13 May 22:36]
