I’ll tell you what, 16:54 - May 18 with 2471 viewsITFC_84

If McKenna starts like this in August/September, he’s in big trouble. Since Christmas, we’ve just given up…

Won’t take much playing out from the back for the crowd to turn, if we have a poor start.

Well yes of course he will be.

For what it's worth, I don't think he will.

Saying that, it's not going to be remotely easy and people need to start realising it

I think everyone will agree with that.

2 points from our first 6 matches in the Championship would be a very worrying start.

We have gone backwards since January and need to make some big improvements in the summer and into next season. I currently see no reason to doubt that McKenna can do that. However, if he doesn't he would very likely be moved on.

Yes, the crowd has rightly stuck with the team this season, but there will be a lot of pressure from the off in 2025/26.

Have to say I’m starting to agree with the McKenna Out faction. He really has overseen a total capitulation the last couple months. Has to start very very strong next season. This does not now seem unreasonable.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

It’s going to be a long tough summer, we have got in the habit of losing games, we continue in that vain in August or don’t win games, KM will be under pressure. Rightly, so too. He’s on a lot of money and let’s face it we’ve been poor for a while now. It really does feel we’ve gone down with a whimper and lacked fight.

Jesus christ, I don't think I've ever seen more crying from a poster than from you this afternoon.

We get it, it's not good enough, but getting this worked up over a game as unimportant as today? Get some perspective ffs.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

As mentioned in my post, it’s been atrocious since Christmas. Not just the one game…
Looks like quite a few are in agreement. Hope that helps.

In reality we have been very poor all season and the home form is the worst I have known in 50 years.

That will just be denied with the customary comment, ‘I haven’t seen anyone post that!’ Although plenty have previously 😉

I’m conflicted about it. I’m not McK out yet BUT he has to start very strong next year and turn out home form in particular around immediately. Again this does not seem unreasonable.

I feel like it'd be a waste of time, as if you got it you wouldn't be suggesting such silly things.

You should just go back to typing 'banter era' after everything.

Well thankfully it won't be in this league, the toughest league in world football, with half the squad from a League two divisions down...

Surely the expectation should be that Town will be competiting for automatic promotion next season? Anything less and pressure should be on McKenna considering the outlay of last summer plus the money we'll have to spend this year. Especially as "We can't afford to compete" has been an over-riding argument throughout 2024/25, especially when form plunged.

"If McKenna starts like this" is totally different to failing to compete for promotion.

It depends how you understand the phrase "starts like this".

If it means loses at Leicester on the opening day then it is ridiculous.

If it means 2 points from 6 matches then it probably does mean failing to compete for promotion!

Interestingly, only Man Utd and Spurs have worse 6-match form than us.

Fair point, it needs defintion but, as Nthsuffolkblue says, after six games is probably a fair moment to take a step back and reflect. If it's just a continuation of this season then alarm bells should start to ring.

Much of every fan base, up and down the lands, lack patience. Town’s supporters are no different (although we’ve been incredibly supportive of this management group on the whole).

If we start the first couple of months next season in poor form, losing games, he won’t be here. Not saying that’s right or wrong, however football is a results business and football club owners do not hang around.

Many will view it that we should/must be top 6 next year (throughout the season).

Do YOU think we should be top 6 next season? You seem very critical for us not being above the relegation zone in the Premier League so I would assume you would have that expectation, wouldn't you?
