If delap signs for united..its definitely for the money !! 22:08 - May 21 with 2412 viewsDenny32

Cos they are not going to win even a raffle in a one ticket draw in nxt season. Now without the champions league money which they were depending on..

The wording of the reports suggests to me his people want him to go to Utd for a big pay day and he's not convinced. I would imagine now they're out of Europe, he'll be looking elsewhere. They'll end up with Cunha strolling round the pitch moaning and occasionally assaulting someone.

I would if Spurs will now enter the race with champs football next season now. Few quid more to spend

I can’t see how anyone would want McKenna at the moment.

Love the guy but even the stupidest of clubs would know their fans are going to be on them if hiring a relegated PL manager doesn’t work out.

I kept thinking poor old Man Utd they must have about 8 top players missing through injury, but they don't, the squad is just terrible.

Kompany just won the bundesliga after being what the dinosaurs on co-comms would call being naive and taking burnley down.

But i agree, i'm not anywhere near as worried about losing mckenna as i was last summer.

For a side that has cost a billion pounds, it's very functional and doesn't even have a top striker

A quite staggering feat of dreadful recruitment, you have to say

Same. I really want McKenna with us next season and I think he’ll be all the better for the experience he’s had this year.

Think he’d be crazy to go to a Brentford or Palace etc but I also really don’t think they’ll look at him at present.

We are an unfinished product at the moment.

We have rocketed up and hit the glass ceiling that is the entrance to the EPL ; not unsurprisingly we have bounced off.

But next year we will be in a much stronger position to break through.
I dont think KMcK is going anywhere at the moment ; not with the job half done.

I read an article about the use of the semi colon ( ; ).
As I understand it it is for joining two sentences together that are on the same subject.
So I have just used it on my previous post.

I dont think I will bother again

Delap to Chelsea then and the fee will be £40m because Chelsea have loads of money. Europe and a realistic chance of first football.

It's a tricky one, even with an English Language degree I'm never fully sure when to use it. I feel like it's more when you've made a point that's kind of finished (so as a sentence, would have a full stop) but then you just want to add another bit. So it's like a full stop and a comma at the same time. I think where you used it a comma would've sufficed.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He won't go to Utd now, wouldn't be surprised if his decision hinged on last nights result, if so, then he won't go.

Utd are in dire straits, it's a project that requires huge surgery and they don't have the cash.

He'll go to Chelsea now.

Even if Chelsea have loads of money, I don't think they're just going to give us £10m for fun.

He's going to get a big pay day wherever he goes.

United made sense until last night. He had a good chance of being their #1 striker. He really needs to go somewhere with European football though. The more games the team play the more minutes he should get.

I think Arsenal will try and get him. They have badly missed a striker and he's cheap enough and good enough to be their #2 striker. If they sign a #1 striker and keep Havertz they would have options.

Truly impaired.

Hope he goes to Forest or Newcastle.

Wood isn’t getting any younger and both these teams have quality managers. They also both have players who can score across their teams, so less pressure on Delap than going to a Spurs, United or even Arsenal.

One thing that might help us get more money is the PSR rules. Rather than us having to have the 30 million upfront, they might offer more money to us to spread it over a longer period time.

Its absolutely shambolic mismanagement and recruitment. If they had cobbled it together on a shoe string you could be more understanding, but the money they've spent over the last few seasons to go so far backwards is absolutely remarkable.

Hojland £65m
Mount £55m
Onana £40m
Casemiro £60m
Antony £80m
Yoro £50m
Zirkzee £35m
Sancho £70m

Not to mention the salaries. Casemiro is on £300k a week and he can't run.

IMO Delap would be mad to go there, he’s not the finished article and they’ve already destroyed one young inexperienced striker in Hoyland and all except Casemiro on that list have seen their reputations trashed at Old Trafford. While I’m sure Delap would back himself and think that won’t happen to him, the rebuild that’s required there will have more than a few casualties now and in the future, he really needn’t put himself at risk of that.

I'm not sure when the official AGM is to confirm our relegation... but someone like Chelsea may want him for the club world cup. If that's the case, is there a technicality where we can get a slightly larger fee?
