The Delap Goodbye 17:56 - May 26 with 5132 views | victorysquad | It did not really happen did it? Bit of an odd way to leave in the end. Few boo's when he came on, no wave to the crowd, he seems like a player who is happy to do 1 season here, 1 season there.

The Delap Goodbye on 20:47 - May 26 by Swansea_Blue | I don’t feel much of a connection with him. It’s not like Mass leaving, that’s for sure. I assume it’s because we haven’t made many good memories this year and it’s especially been a miserable grind over the second half of the season. |
Is he suffering from the chambers/skuse curse of playing for a version of ipswich we haven't enjoyed much? Is it easier to make connections when we are winning? Probably.

Very weird behaviour. If you're booing a gesture of anti-racism, you need to have a think about what that says about you.

It also only lasts about 10 seconds. If you hate it that much just sit in silence. Booing it makes you a very strange individual.

I sit NSL, so the opposite end and didn't see it. I wouldn't be surprised if he did though. I'd like to think he'll always look back to us and how we gave him his break through season. Like others, I've found the hype around him OTT at times. Scoring 12 goals in the PL is a great achievment but I've often found his decision making frustrating. We saw it again on Saturday when he first came on and won that fantastic header he flicked on to Clarke. He then went on to chase down Clarke's wayward shot and this sums up his sometimes poor decision making. Rather than laying off a simple 3 yard pass to a well positioned Hutch, he turned inside for a shot that was never on and the opportunity was wasted. Frustrating. I have no ill will towards the lad and was glad the thread criticising his appearance was pulled. I hope he has a good career and remembers the team who gave him his chance.
| Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness. |

Not even that, more like 4 seconds. We have some very strange fans.

Agreed, he has great potential if he can rekindle his form of the first half of the season. He has some qualities of Drogba- maybe why Chelsea are interested. But i think all the MOTD talk of England/Kane's successor has whipped up the hype a little prematurely imo...has that hype gotten to him and is why since the turn of the year he has looked more often like he is choosing to do something individually? (it appears the team and his form dropped off in unison in January) He also has a bit of a 'Diego Costa' side to his game which can be a hinderance/frustrating to watch. I do think we can be a better team without LD...and i believe we have a higher scoring rate with Hirst in the team? [Post edited 27 May 10:39]

The Delap Goodbye on 19:02 - May 26 by _clive_baker_ | Oddly I’m almost at the point now where I would rather he goes than stays. Clearly a very talented young player and good luck to him, but I don’t think the speculation surrounding his future is particularly healthy and it’s a bit tiresome. We’ll always have it somewhere with someone, but in this care I’d be inclined to take the money, get it done early and move on. I’m not saying any of that is his doing but we need cohesion and some certainty to allow us to plan properly for next season. |
Me too. Let's get the money and set him free to see what he can do - we can always have the claim of 'being the ones who made him' or whatever. Imagine if he stayed and got a serious injury in pre season, it would have been a travesty for everyone. He's got no business playing Championship football anyway and he should be very much eyeing up the World Cup.

We have that certainty don't we? List of suitors is too long for them all to pull out. Clubs are trying to woo him rather than the other way around. I very much hope we won't be stalling on our own moves until Delap picks his new club. *PSR rules permitting, June/July. [Post edited 27 May 11:11]

The Delap Goodbye on 11:11 - May 27 with 253 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | I felt personally he should've started and then get subbed off to an appreciative applause and one last "Liam Delap ole ole" from the crowd. He deserved it considering he was giving us a chance. But I didn't expect anything after the game. That was Luongo's moment. They really need to stop with the players going back in to come back out. I'm not sure why they delay it.

The Delap Goodbye on 11:11 - May 27 with 251 views | BlueBlood90 | Did people actually boo him? That's a disgrace if they did. He did a great job and earned us far more points than we would've got without him. A player far too good for the Championship that was always going to leave if we got relegated. He's done nothing wrong.
