Seems a bit steep to me. Wouldn't be impressed if we paid that for him.

Also don't want to be competing with Nodge for a new striker if they've suddenly got that cash to splash.

Not with his injury record. £12m plus some top ups would be about right.

So that will probably work out £2m for each game he manages to stay fit (if they are lucky)…

At least that should keep Burnley occupied for a day or two!

Where's the competition?

Option 1. Former League, FA Cup and UEFA Cup champions in the midst of a revolution with the best young manager in the world looking to go straight back up. Probably get to hang out with a Global superstar

Option 2. Some club that maybe won a milk cup or something once, plays in strip that resembles radioactive pi$$ and will be hopeful of mid table again. Maybe get to hang out with Delia Smith.

No competition there.

Yeah, I was going to say about £15M tops. He’s a goal scorer, but doesn’t have the pace to be a good PL striker. Plus the injury considerations that you mention.

I'd hope you'd get free fries at that price.

Hey it's obvious to you and I of course, but not everyone has the same clear-eyed vision of these things!

Plus the chance to hang out with Delia and eat her pie... could sway a few.

What annoys me is that they got the geezer with the weird facial hair for nothing and sold him to Porto for £14 million

Pot luck that is all

Rumour is even Stadler and Waldorf now refuse to talk to him as he's just too negative even for them.

Not sure about that tbh. Put aside who he plays for, he’s got one of the best goal per minute ratio outside the PL.

His injury record would be a concern though

Let’s not be disingenuous- the reason they picked him was due to having a good scouting network in place - which was paid for by having been in the PL for a few years. It’s not pot luck.

Hopefully the infrastructure of ITFC will get stronger and stronger as the PL money will get invested into the right projects.

Normally they invest a round number back into the squad when having to sell
