It wasn't last year for us, he's very much a known quantity for us now.
We took the risk with him in the Prem - we wouldn't be trying to get him in now if we were worried about him passing a medical.

Think Taylor's preseason performances have probably earnt him the right anyway. It will be handy that if we need Cajuste to do 15-20 minutes from the bench that he knows what's expected of him though | |

The club certainly have concerns about his fitness according to a fairly well placed source. But guess were willing to forgo that to get him in.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. Boro are desperate to sell and it will get to the point where hes not got any options on the table.
He can't turn down an offer to probably double his wages. Football is a short career and you've got to get the most out of it as you possibly can. | |

I think if no prem teams are interested he would be mad not to, double his salary, one of the best young coaches in Europe, higher chance of prem football next season, Boro politely asking him to move on for the cash.

I'd love it but I just can't see it this window. I don't think he rejected us because he had prem offers or because our squad isn't good enough. I think it was entirely down to the fact he's a Boro fan and didn't want to play in the Championship for anyone else.
Probably one we revisit next summer so long as all goes well.
Anyway Cajuste is going to be completely different gravy in the Championship. Him and Matusiwa should dominate. [Post edited 4 Aug 18:48]

Those concerns are not different to last season when we were prepared to take the risk.
Same this time around. We are well aware of the issues and, same as last year, its a big part of why we can sign him.

Jack Taylor a perfect understudy to Cajuste, with Finley Barbrook as option 3 for LDM. Jack Taylor was excellent against Auxerre and his energy levels and athletism was off the chart.
The cover we need is for Matusiwa, a ball winner, but somebody who is fairly comfortable with a sporadic role. | | | |
