No. Cheltenham Blue said that Ajax can't force Akpom to accept a deal from Birmingham. Literally in the post you replied to. Whether the media say he is being pressured is neither here nor there to the original point.

I don't think Birmingham could offer him massively inflated wages, either, without blowing their own PSR position out of the water. Plus that would come under personal terms, not the deal with Ajax. |  |

I think we can forget PSR. Nobody cares. Birmingham and others are going for it. If they ignore it what are the authorities going to do? A piddling little fine or a couple of points deducted? Compared to Premier League money, it’s nothing so who cares.
We are used to owners like Evans using it to hide the fact that they’re not prepared to spend anything or can’t. My unfounded suspicion is that the Americans are crystallising assets by sales and keeping spending to a minimum to prepare the club for sale. That would help explain a loan with a commitment to buy. There’s been silence this summer and a lot of scraping around.
