Makes me laugh when I see people slate Davis, though also clearly identifies them as not being too clued up about football. We've certainly not signed many players who've made a bigger impact than Davis. Id rather keep him than take the money, though ultimately may have to accept he'll move if the price is right.

You seem to downvote and slate anyone suggesting Davis might be off. What makes you so confident about it?

Maybe a stupid question but if the player isn't looking to move on then why is the agent trying to drum up business? Surely he's not acting in the players interests and would risk upsetting his client?

Is that a coincidence then...... Town Not Up For Sale 9th Jul 2025 16:02Town have allayed fears that the club’s ownership is looking to sell a controlling stake in the Blues. 44

Only signed a new one in October, which you'd think would have taken account of relegation

Well if you are looking for additional investment you are bound to quote potential asset sales arn't you. It' demonstrates the trading model? You could argue the figure is far higher than £100m so has exceeded his expectations.

Agents often do this sort of thing. Even if a player isn't actively looking for a move they'll still be on the lookout, from their own perspective as much as the player's. If he gets his player interest from a Premier League club then the prospect of playing at the top level as well as the wages can be difficult to turn down.

As far as the *actual letter* goes, the wording is as follows: "Up to £100M+ in player sale proceeds and £56M in parachute payments expected this summer, all of which provided maximum balance sheet flexibility." Given the importance of football clubs to their communities, or even given the sheer size of the sums involved, this is monumentally careless wording if it's not saying that the player sale proceeds are not in fact "expected this summer". If Phil has spoken to those concerned, and dampened down concerns having got assurances, then that's certainly a relief. But even if such player sales are not expected, it's worrying that those within the hierarchy are either so bad or careless with important words. Alternatively, Delap goes for £30m, Omari goes for £40m, Broady goes for £7m and Brett Johnson, knowing something about football, actually expected us to get a fee for our club captain and talisman. (Joking).

£70m for the pair? on 17:27 - Aug 9 with 1204 views | PioneerBlue | If it had been June and a double offer of £75m came then that’s one thing, initiating this now post preseason early season is ridiculous unless we have a plan and acquisition players in waiting underneath all this. I rather expect not based on how the window has gone. From a Goalkeeper, a Central Defender, RB Young, CMf Azor and CMf Cajuste we only have 1 player that consensus said we need currently on the pitch and that’s Azor as a back up to Morsy, now he’s Morsy’s replacement and we have no one backing him up! Absolute chaos window to date in what is MAs biggest window, we judge in May.
