This is a fair point.
The question is (using Hackney as an example), when do you give up on your prime target. If they sign for someone else, it's easy - move on to your next target. However, it's less clear-cut in many circumstances - Hackney being the perfect example. Do you completely give up on him now, and sign someone else? |
And this is just me, but the fact he was here and had a look round and still went back, for me, says we move on.

I guess the difference is signing a striker which KM can work with, can fit into our playing system, is willing to come to the club, and doesn't break our salary/transfer budgets versus just buying a random CF which we can afford. |  | | |

That there proves part of the problem - Akpom and Cajuste are joining in the second game, with no pre season because of late business - the summer is a two month window with full knowledge of when the season begins.
