You are right to a point, but he is professional and well paid to do his job and right now when its mattered (which is not pre-season) he consistently fails to deliver. It's just criticism in a professional sport is more public and there are more watching you do your job who will criticise. If someone goes beyond a line in that criticism that is not acceptable.
The club needs to take some blame, we knew as far back as about a year ago he wasn't good enough for top end Championship, we should have replaced him in Jan and definitely already this summer but we continue to put him in the firing line. |  | | |

Totally agree with you Swailsey! I AAH put a shift in and it just didn't come off for him. Had a golden chance there in extra time put just couldn't sort his feet/legs out.
Caveat I only saw the second half... but Hurst's penalty was woeful, SS had a good chance as did others. AAH did not lose us that match based off one penalty miss.
The constant laying into AAH is out of order IMHO, there were others in the team that deserve much more scrutiny. I feel for the guy honestly as I do all penalty takers who miss as I have done in the past. |  | | |

Exactly this. A year ago we were in the same boat and we were seeing the same failings.
The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.
Forget the penalty, Al Hamadi is not good enough in all areas.

Agree he wasn’t the only one responsible but that doesn’t deflect from the fact he simply is not good enough…. Not his fault that we haven’t recruited well and replaced him so he can find his level (middle league one ish i would suggest) | | | |

Agree with this. Too much scapegoating going on here. Ultimately the responsibility lies with McKenna. He did a brilliant job creating a system that got the best out of players. Now he's bought in players that don't really fit the system. For the first time since he's been here he's no longer creating a scenario where players can be their very best. So either change the players - the right ones - or change the system. | | | |

Anyone remember Damian Delaney? He was continually slagged off on here as being absolutely useless and eventually we let him go as a free agent. He went to Palace, was vital in their promotion season back to the PL and played four full seasons as a mainstay in the PL. He was simply badly managed. We need to stop scapegoating - whoever - because in my view these players are absolutely trying, all of them, and look to the manager to sort it out. For me, I'm worried that McKenna has lost his way, but I really really hope not and hope he can turn the TEAM around. | | | |

Puttin a "shift in" means at least he was breaking his balls running around got into good positions and it just didn't come off for him. As well as being moved out right after Ogbene was subbed.
I actually would counter that JC stood out in terms of a poor showing and my expectations for him are a lot higher than AAH! In the 2nd half how many times did our play get broken down from Clarke getting lost and then immediately we were on the back foot.
AAH was not the problem nor the solution tonight and neither are his fault.... Perhaps the first 5 peno takers should have done their job alongside Walton who didnt dive correctly.

You misunderstand. He shouldn’t be in the position of second striker to Hirst, we should have someone in who would have played tonight. We’ve been in this situation for two seasons now where AAH has been second choice. He’s just about third choice imo. Even then I think he needs to build his confidence elsewhere. | |
