Cannot see the logic in replacing Broadhead with Clarke. 22:19 - Aug 12 with 1479 viewsPacittiJohn

Broadhead has a great first touch, can see a pass, and is a good finisher. I can only assume he really wants to leave?

Jack seems far too predictable, gets knocked off the ball easily, not much pace, runs down blind alleys. Of course he’s young, and has potential, but should not be in the first team until he builds some muscle. I assume he won’t now Akpom’s arrived (get in the first team rather than bulk up that is).

The more I see of JC the more I’m convinced that the directive is to stick with JC and make it work due to the fee we paid for him.

NB is so much better than JC. I won’t believe that KM doesn’t feel that way too

The contract situation is really the only justification really. From that perspective I get it, but Broadhead’s an absolutely fantastic footballer and will be a huge loss.

Was really pleased when JC signed but he just doesn’t fit the system and now broadhead is looking to move because he’s not had enough playing time. The logic is to sell him because he probably won’t sign a contract and we have to find a replacement. hopefully Philogene is that replacement.

Broady probably injured again. It’s been 5 minutes since his last one.

If he wasn’t so fragile he’d be more highly valued.

Philogene seems like Jack Mark 2 to me. Early days but seems brittle. There are percentage players that can play badly but still contribute, and then there are luxury players and at the moment both JC and JP look like expensive luxuries.

In fairness it's also Jaden, Szmodics and potentially Akpom as well, plus from the club's point of view we'd be silly not to take the money being offered for someone who's dropped down the pecking order, regardless of how highly people rate him or not.

Clarke certainly a confidence player - had buckets of it at Sunderland and now barely has any here. Thought he'd be an awkward fit for our system when we signed him and yet to be convinced otherwise since tbh. Not going to write him off though as he has undoubted ability and maybe if we can start to get ourselves going properly as a team he'll find his rhythm again.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Totally agree with all these posts. Clarke is trying to do a Hutch and too often tries to take a whole team on. He doesn't fit the system we play. If we're looking at hard truths, not Szmodics either. In both games we've looked totally unbalanced, have lost the passing and link-up play, and have no real poke. McKenna needs a big re-think - and fast.

I’m certain he only wants to leave because he was replaced by a far inferior player last season despite being our top scorer the one before. It’s been poor management/decision making all round in this regard to be honest. We still seem to be suffering from the absolute mess we made of both transfer windows.

Need permanent additions before we ship out more of our players. Dreadful window. Where is MA.

I don’t think there was much logic behind any of our transfers last summer.

What's the market for JC right now if we wanted to try and sort a quick deal?

Probably only a direct rival (which I doubt either side would entertain) or a promoted club and we would lose out financially.

Broadhead is millions sitting there to bank. It's a tough situation we have got ourselves in and I see see broadhead going to Wrexham for serious profit on the last year of our deal and us trying to make JC work.

My annoyance is Clarke's best season came hugging the touchline, a space Davis employs with the way that we play. I assume that is why he was tried on the right.

Kieran is making his choices.

He's chosen Clarke over Broadhead. Azor over Morsy. Greaves over Burgess. Ali over someone's mum. Benjamin Button over Muric.

Time will tell whether these calls are the right ones. But his decisions are certainly no longer beyond question.

Didn’t have much choice after he signed them, this one is the one I’d be most concerned about presently though, we all know what Nathan Broadhead can do.

Problem with Clarke is he adds nothing to the cohesion of the team, he plays as an individual.

Broady is just as capable of moments of magic and actually knows how to pass and move, make runs, it's a darn shame talented players like him are being shifted out for overrated and overpriced dudes like Clarke.

Recruitment at this club has been a shambles since Cook left, we need a director of football who understands the game

Because Broadhead didn’t cost loads. Nothing against JC as he doesn’t ask to be picked, but I’ve yet to see anything that he does that should put him ahead of Broadhead.

It’s no wonder NB is looking for a move if he knows however he plays he won’t be the first name on the sheet.

It does seem odd. Do you think JCs attitude to x, y or z is better than NBs?
I just don’t see any other reason to freeze him out.

And in each case it’s right imo. They are all better footballers on paper, or a bitter fit with the team and where it’s going, or have more longevity to them than the comparable players. Broken record, this all takes time.
