It went really well and, the day after, the jungle drums suggested he was going to muck in and get us back up. Hence my post on the Brentford deal being off. Surely this should now be the case.
Hutchie has said he is not in the right place to be able to play for us. That’s his choice, although to be fair he contributed along with everyone else to us being back in the Championship.

The longer it goes on, the more it screws us…
It’s clear and obvious that he doesn’t want to be here. Bidding clubs will know that and will know the closer we get to the deadline, the lower fee we will accept because we need the money in the bank to try and re invest it.
That being said, it’s obvious he’s leaving and most probably for £30m+ so why can’t we already be out spending that money?!
I would massively argue that accepting £35m now and having a good few weeks to spend it, is better than accepting say £38m on deadline day and beating stuck with time to spend the money. |  | | |

Hate to see it, from any player, not just one of ours - but such is the modern game.
Have no issues with his desire to want PL move, but you continue to apply yourself professionally, on the understanding that when the clubs value is met, the club won’t stand in your way - an amicable and sensible solution for everyone.

Through the Birmingham and Bromley games, it's come across to me as though there's a lack of togetherness in the squad. Something like this could well be behind it - some (probably the younger players, and those who joined for the PL experience) supporting Hutch and feeling he should be given a chance, as it may be them next. Others, more likely to be the 'old' guard, believing he should suck it up and play for the club until a deal is done.
Hutchinson should be banned from the training ground until a decision is made. Keep him as far away from the rest as possible unless he changes his tune. | |

We've not even spent the Delap money yet, and we recently had a 15M transfer fall through. I'm not sure we need the money in the bank.
Everyone wants to keep Omari unless they get a great offer. Southampton just put a £50M price tag on Fernandes' head. They had all the time in the world to pay £35M and didn't. We can't now not hold out for the value we want and the value we deserve with players like Dibling/ Fernandes being quoted at £45/50M.
Equally, he's better than any replacement we could sign with that £35M. We don't need to rush the decision. | | | |
