When we passed the ball back to him his first touch, more often than not, was dreadful.
He kept having to step back to make his second touch.

Honestly, Walton, Muric and Palmer have all underperformed compared to Vas. We should have kept him, unless we could bring in a world-beater, which we most certainly did not.
Feels a bit like he left under a cloud though, so it seems unlikely. |

I suspect some "humble pie" might have to be eaten somewhere if he did come back though. |
I said this when he left saying that him leaving would unsettle the team and he should be kept around in some shape or other as the players know the way he plays and have built a defensive unit together.
I got huge amounts of downvotes saying that he was nowhere near good enough and that he was one of the weak links in the team and each time I brought it up I got ridiculed.
So a lot of people on this board will need to eat humble pie as well. | |

His errors were not league specific. Running off your line, flapping at balls and passing poorly are the same whatever league. |  |

So the premier league is a massive step apart from for keepers... Riiightttt. And out of interest what were these balls he was flapping at? He's the most commanding keeper from crosses I've seen in our goal.

I was happy with him last season probably as the demands on him using his feet were far less important and he did very well with his shot stopping. I was even convinced he could be the best division.
Im looking back on my assessment there and thinking I have got it wrong. He needs less of the shot stopping this season as we are a better team (relatively). He looks thoroughly unconvincing. So uncomfortable with the ball at feet, seems to struggle with passing at all levels, slow to move it, slow off his line and then when he did decide to race off his line today he decided to try and control it.
I would understand if the club looked for a new GK, surprised we didn't go for Rushworth. |  |
