Gutted for Newcastle and their Fans 22:04 - Aug 25 with 2121 viewsunstableblue

Those fans drove that team to an unlikely two goals and levelling a game against the champions from two down.

But Liverpool had that moment of quality and a bit of luck.

Newcastle deserved the draw, and even pressed for the winner after equalising.

Remarkable game, advert for Prem.

Excellent game.

Fantastic effort from Newcastle, really really unlucky to lose

Such a good performance.

They would have easily won if Liverpool hadn't illegally tapped up their star striker.

It truly was the fans who got Newcastle back into that game. It demonstrates what fans can do if they behind their team.

Absolutely BB

Imagine if the Portman Road faithful went to overdrive from the kick-off whistle at PR against Derby, with our superior players, we'd blitz them.

Really enjoyed the last 30 minutes. Apart from lots of cheating going on all over trying to get each other sent off.

Hmm..reminded me a bit of our win against the Blunts at PR when we were 1-0 down, Pablo got sent off, we went 2-0 down & we somehow came back to win 3-2 with 10 men & the crowd 100% behind us. Still probably the best game I've seen at PR for drama (maybe excepting the more important play off semi final win v Bolton).

Incredible game, just after Dale Roberts had passed away I believe.

I was in the North Stand, Sheff Utd couldn't cope with the 2 Bents and Ambrose in the second half despite having the extra man

Nope superb first time finish, keeper had no chance with it. All made by the Newcastle defence being dragged across to cover the the threat on their left. They got super narrow and the foresight from the Pool player to let the ball go through to the player in space.

Quality goal and got the Liverbirds out of jail

It's not so much an accusation, as so common that to accuse a team now is met with a shrug.

It's not illegal, maybe unethical at worst if they had approached the player / agent first - but Liverpool made an offer which they felt was right for them, Newcastle turned it down, player threw toys out of pram.

No different from us approaching a club with an offer, or indeed Forest or Brentford making an approach for Hutchinson.

There is no evidence and Newcastle have not claimed for any inappropriate action by Liverpool.
