Can't wait for it to close.
It has sent even the most sanguine of posters on here mad.

Nothing I say, write or think will ever change a thing during a transfer window.

I remain unflustered.

I will save my passions for the terraces where I believe I have a smidgeon of influence.

Likewise. But more because it’s silly to start the season with so much uncertainty over squads for every team - shut the window earlier please!

And then once it’s all done and we know who is here, a pointless international break…

Does that surprise people?

When you look at words from our chairmen/CEO about attacking the window.

Knowing we have 1/2 seasons of ‘advantage’ over others to get back up.

Most don’t want to see that go to waste.

And on top of all that, everyone can and will support in the way that want.

also add to that we’ve start the season a bit naff.

This is geniune, not a dig or anything.

Why not wait till the end of the window before sounding off.

It would make so much more sense.

Because I’m an ITFC fan, I think about the club a pathetic amount during the day, I over think many aspects of what could happen, I look at the worse case scenarios (only having Hirst and Ali vs Brum - it happened)

Supporting Town isn’t something I take lightly. It dictates my general mood.

Not sure I could be more honest I that.

And I know, aged 40 with a wife and two kids the above sounds ridiculous

It's not ridiculous or pathetic, I was the same, and to a lesser extent probably still am, however it used to really affect my moods and behaviour for an extended period of time.

As part of a wider episode, well a full breakdown / hospitalisation / medication / counselling etc - I learned how to retrain my brain to change how I react to things which I have no influence over.

Football was one of those, work another, even down to how I react to other people's driving or nonsense on social media.

For football, I have absolutely no influence or awareness over how Ipswich and the likes of Ashton, McKenna etc handle transfers, negotiate and ultimately I shouldn't need to. I still get irritated when we lose, I was grumpy for a while on Saturday, but I force myself not to dwell, and ideally look for the positives - even to just make myself feel better so as not to let it spoil something else.

All I can influence is how it things me feel - and therefore worrying about stuff or letting stuff affect something else I am doing is just a pointless waste of energy. I obviously still do react to things, but try to do it quickly and move on, the art is not dwelling and overthinking . . .

I do get it, the result effects my mood and im invested in players and transfers.

What i struggle with is the repetition of the same subject and the hot takes before things have actually happened.

Don’t struggle with it, just accept some people might want to discuss it.

Me neither. I've taken a step back from this place in the last week as the amount of ridiculously, way OTT negativity posts was actually starting to make me angry.

The sooner this madness is over the better, we're supposed to be as one, standing behind the team we love, wanting them to be the best they can be. All I see at the moment is too many reveling in our situation, trying their hardest to split the support, or competing for the maddest hot take, like there's some kind of trophy awarded for it!

Even if we have a good week this

Does it not still matter that our slowness in the window has contributed to our poor results of the season so far.

Ashton may save his reputation slightly this week. But leaving things this late isn't productive or helpful for KM and he's made that case the past few windows.

Do you actually think this has been done on purpose by the club/Ashton ?

There's no fast or slow way, it depends on targets, availability, price .. surely you can work that out.

Yes it hasnt been ideal, far from it, but repeating the fact won't change it.

KM is no idiot. He will know how it works. Some of the criticism of Ashton is ridiculous. He's probably working endless overtime for no thanks at all.

Do you really think he wouldn't love to get it all done by the end of July and then go off on holiday?

Our business could have been done ages ago if we lowered our standards. Who wants to do that though?

Every Prem club needs a couple of key reinforcements, it's not just us.

No.

Do I believe managers lose games on purpose and get sacked no. They get critique along the way. So imo absolutely the same can be done with those in charge of recruitment.

How you discuss those things is of course key and my old ways of just throwing random sht out there wasn't it and moaning groaning etc isn't helpful. But I dont believe those behind the scenes should escape discussion when it's perfectly OK for managers to take the fall if things don't work out.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with your response mate. Was saying how I personally would have voiced opinions about things in the past. ( I get why however you'd think that as I put you when I was using a generalised 'you'

Personally felt I replied to your post well apologies If it came across differently.
