End of window Prediction! 01:53 - Aug 27 with 1910 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | We do get Egili over the line, he’ll be announced Thursday! Rejoice. A relatively uninspiring CM comes in as back up for Matiuswa, that’s done on Friday, someone on loan from the fringes of a PL squad or even the championship. We stick with Cajuste / Taylor in the 8 until assessing in January. A striker signs deadline day, I have no idea who but it’s not “marque”. Everyone gets very excited about Norwegian kid but then goes back to moaning by Tuesday (including me). We beat Derby though, comfortably. Godspeed. [Post edited 27 Aug 2:11]

End of window Prediction! on 06:59 - Aug 27 with 1579 views | Everydayblue | Seems a bit quieter than I expected... I thought we'd be linked to a few more, by now, this week. Considering what we still need. KM hinted at wanting Cam Humphry's to stay here in one of his pressers, recently. So I'm not convinced, yet, that we'll be in for another MF. Even though I think we need another MF destroyer as back up to Matusiwa. (Can Johnson play there at a push?) It's getting to the stage in the window now, where clubs haven't got time to find replacements for any players they lose. So we'll probably get our pants pulled down on fees, if we sign anyone inspiring.. Ashton's been up for 72hrs scouring the FM data base. But , without the 25-26 season updates, he's a bit hamstrung.... By Monday, he'll be driving to Dundee in his bare feet with a Toblerone addiction.

Yeah, it would be fine. That's about the minimum acceptable level though.

End of window Prediction! on 07:57 - Aug 27 with 1269 views | textbackup | Expect; - Norway Arrives (but won’t feature for 3/4 weeks as needs time on the training pitch with the squad) - a random championship squad filler CM in on loan - No striker Hope; - Norway arrives and is allowed to play with the freedom that attracted us to him - a solid, match ready, experienced championship CM who will drive us forwards when needed (Hamer) - a striker to come in and push/rival Hirst, a strong physical leader of the line (Millwall chap) [Post edited 27 Aug 8:19]

No to Ruiz. But I can see the other 3 happening. Ebou Adams would be my bet.

Busy Friday, Saturday and Sunday then? Craig David would not be impressed.

One thing I've always found more than a coincidence is that Ruiz and Caceres are at the same club. Did we stumble on Caceres looking at Ruiz (or vice versa)?

They aren't at the same club.

The Ebou Adams talk feels very reminiscent of the Lewis Travis deal a couple of years back - not particularly exciting but probably essential

End of window Prediction! on 10:23 - Aug 27 with 519 views | billlm | If they don't get another striker, they can do one, Hirst isn't good enough, Showed that Saturday with the ball whipped in and never reacted as he is watching the defender not the ball,
End of window Prediction! on 10:25 - Aug 27 with 503 views | Jrm_72 | - Egeli over the line later in the week but too late to play Saturday. - Woolfy on loan on final day to someone like Stoke or Bristol City. Baggott used as replacement. - Then at best two final day 'Ahadme's' for CM and ST. Thinking of the likes of Davis Keillor Dunn - a decent to high performer from a division or two below. Dion Charles that kinda thing. Massively underwhelming. Although we could already have this years Ahadme in the building in McAteer. The panic buys do tend to get done quickly. So it might be this doesnt happen either. Needless to say since Texters posted about having a lot to do, 24hrs later we still have exactly the same amount still to do... [Post edited 27 Aug 10:27]

Egeli has been playing. Even Cajuste had some minutes despite not really having a pre season so would expect him to have a place on the bench at least. I'm expecting: Woolf stays. Caceres doesn't join. Decent CM on loan. Someone like Miley but probably not actually him. Egeli That's probably it. Starting to lose hope that we get another striker. Although Hirst, Akpom, Egeli and Szmodics would be reasonable options it wouldn't be ideal not to get another out and out CF in.

End of window Prediction! on 11:31 - Aug 27 with 265 views | DavoIPB | Egeli perhaps and a league 1 striker as cover.
End of window Prediction! on 12:22 - Aug 27 with 141 views | LankHenners | Egeli signs later this week but either too late to feature on Saturday or the decision is made to not play him as he needs an 'adjustment period' which immediately dampens the good mood generated by signing him in the first place. Efforts to sign another striker fall flat and we resort to caving to Como's demands for Azon. Prem loanee in midfield. Frustration levels continue to rise as most business does not get done until deadline day itself.
