Jordan James on 13:15 - Aug 27 with 3725 views | SitfcB | Ipswich Town are rivalling Wrexham in the race for Welsh midfielder Jordan James - and both plan talks by the weekend. Midfielder James can leave French side Rennes in a full deal and is willing to meet both clubs about a transfer. The Tractor Boys have made contact with Rennes and are keen. Wrexham's bid is still bigger but they hope to talk the player into joining them. Italian side Parma have been offering a loan to buy arrangement but not the Championship sides are in for a straight cash buy. James is swayed by Wrexham's story but Ipswich may be a better prospect for this season and beyond.

Jordan James on 13:25 - Aug 27 with 3175 views | pointofblue | I'd feel slightly more hopeful if this wasn't Alan Nixon. Is that unfair? This is where our slow start holds us back slightly. With seven or more points on the board the difference between us and Wrexham would be more stark.

Jordan James on 13:26 - Aug 27 with 3155 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Not sure he has had much of a pre season though. So one we would need to get up to speed. Played a fair few times with Azor. Started next to each other on occasions.

No it’s not. The minute I see his name attached the more likely to think at best it’s a wild exaggeration of the position, at worst and more likely total fabrication

i think the cut off is to be born after 1/7/2004, anyone confirm or deny this? he was born the day after, so that would make you right if true [Post edited 27 Aug 15:27]

Weirdly I believe it's slightly more generous than that and it's that if you were born 1/1/2004 or later, so wouldnt count.

As per my earlier post it's 1/1/2005 (was 1/1/2004 last season)

There’s got to be a ‘good dribbler’ pun there somewhere hasn’t there…

Nope, Under 21 players are players who are under the age of 21 at the start of the (calendar) year in which the season starts, which would make 1/1/2004 the relevant date for this season. James was 20 at that date so therefore counts as an Under 21 player and doesn't take up a place in the 25-man squad.

i've looked in the efl handbook and it has this:- "Guidance The definition of an Under 21 Player is a Player under the age of 21 as at the 1 January in the year in which the Season concerned commences (e.g. for Season 2024/25, born on or after 1 January 2003). " so 25-26 is after 1/1/04, so barbrook and james should be under age (i think!) [Post edited 27 Aug 15:41]

Good work...I made the mistake of going off a FourFourTwo article from last season which stated 2004 (definitely makes sense should be 2004, not 2005 this season)
