H Clarke back after intentional break. 14:44 - Aug 29 with 858 viewsFrimleyBlue

Furlong is quite a suprising signing then. I thought we'd gone for him as even if one fullback left clarke was out for a long while so having him back soon anyone else surprised by furlong?

Maybe Clarke isn’t good enough?

Could mean we believe we could move Clarke on as his injury isn't that bad. Or perhaps there is some interest in Johnson.

I’d much rather Clarke than Johnson, I wonder if Johnson really wants to be here but it wouldn’t surprise me if both leave.

Perhaps. I don't think prem quality but solid enough cover.

I like furlong so I'm not fussed I just assumed it meant clarke was out for the first half of the season

The KOA guys were suggesting that Furlong more fits the Tuanzebe profile, allowing him to shuffle across and play as a third centre back when Davis pushes on. He'd fit that better than either Johnson or Clarke.

I'm quite persuaded by the theory.

Having signed Young and now Furlong too, I would think that Johnson is leaving.

Not to mention Kipre can cover the right also.

The last thing we need is an intentional break - sounds painful.

Kipre is a big lump who reminds me slightly of Toto Nsiala. I wouldn't want to see him playing RB or on the right side of a back 3.

I don't think Furlong is here to make up the numbers, he'll have his eyes on making that right back spot his own.

Clarke hasn't really ever been fancied in his time here, he wasn't especially convincing in L1 IMO, was replaced by Williams / Axel in the Champ and then loaned out last season. I think his days are numbered really, wouldn't expect to see much of him again.

Accidental breaks are fair enough, but intentional ones...

Think that's what Norwich's BBC correspondent wants their players to do to Nunez.

I wouldn't be so quick to right him off.

Two years ago he started 25 games for a team that was consistently winning. Williams only started 6 games at RB and Axel only won the job for the final 10 games of the season so really for a player 'who wasn't fancied' he played an awful lot of winning football for Mckenna.

In my eyes he's a more solid option than Johnson but certainly one will have to go.

I'd pick a fit Clarke above Johnson tbh. He's so much more dynamic in how he plays.

I can't help but feel if he was more fancied he would've been more involved than he has been. Since Clarke arrived we've signed Williams, Tuanzebe, Johnson, Godfrey on loan, Young and now Furlong to operate in that role. Injuries obviously haven't helped, I just can't really see him getting much football here.

Time will tell.

Curious if Ali’s injury and H Clarke’s would stop a late move this window?
