Such is the ludicrous nature of the Championship and the transfer window, we can’t start the season with the squad we’ll have.
So we need to find a way to get a result against teams who are going to come here and spoil.

The team is clearly a little bereft of confidence and that affects performance.

It's a factor, one element and not the only one. I would say that the spell we had after we scored shows that we can still play the way we know works and is successful - during that period we played with belief and confidence but it's not as ingrained after last season and that's not surprising.
It needs to be rebuilt which is part of KMs job but the other factor is 'winning mentality' we are just off it at the moment. | |

There's no excuse for our band of hyper expensive signings that have been recruited partly based on character not having a winning mentality.

This is the excuse that I'm clinging on to, as regards our poor attacking play.
But what's the excuse with the defence? If we don't let in 2 at home against a poor Derby side, we win that. And 4 of the back 5 played together last year.
