Personally I find it great that they want to unite the multi-cultural kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland regardless of religion, skin colour and political beliefs. They must feel sad that there is so much popularity for it to be split from those in Northern Ireland who want a united Ireland instead, and those in Wales and Scotland (and even Cornwall and Yorkshire) who want independence. |  |

Wasn't 1984 a book about Government censorship? Isn't banning books from libraries due to political views, controlling the content of museums for similar reasons, financially controlling what is taught/practised at universities and clamping down on selected forms of peaceful protest exactly that?

Exactly. It’s like opposites day for them. A lot of what they come out with is projection. Charlie Kirk for example was keen on saying that we should keep religion out of politics. He was a deeply religious person and his whole political outlook was shaped by his religion. It fries my brain. Maybe I’m a touch OCD or something but I struggle to deal with the constant contradictions.
