'Scottish football supporters have topped a European attendance chart for a third year running, the SPFL says.
Citing a Uefa report, the league body say "football fans across Scotland have recorded significantly higher top-flight attendances per capita than any other league in Europe".
The Scottish Premiership's 18.5 attendees per 1,000 people at matches last season, a 5% increase on the previous campaign (higher than the 3% average) and 70% higher than any other league on the continent.
Portugal 's Primeira Liga sits in second place, with 10.7 attendees per 1000 people and the Netherlands' Eredivisie is third with 9.77 attendees per 1000 people.
England's Premier League has 6.97 attendees per 1000 people.
The average league attendance of 17,303is the seventh highest on the continent.'

I think his fundamental ideas are sound, he just can’t implement them well enough. Having got Southampton up in 23/24, I think that he may still have been with them has they been relegated with more fight - but once it became clear that they were in a fight to beat Derby’s 07/08 points total, he was done for.
If you want to try and establish a culture of play at a club, then great. But you have to keep results ticking over, while you do so. Fans will accept one step forward, one step back for as long as there’s a sign that the club will eventually take multiple steps forward in time. But for Martin and his teams, they never seem to move forward at all, |  | | |

There isn't as much money in the PL, but it's a huge club. Try telling any Glaswegians that Rangers or Celtic isn't a big club and see how you get on. Stacks of history, huge crowds, European nights, etc. Celtic were only a minute or two away from taking Bayern to pens in the CL knockout phases last season. | |
