Didn’t realise Downes was on the field until he fouled somebody late in the first half and looked aggrieved about it, as usual. I didn’t see the second half and presume he improved.
Thought Dozzell did ok from the 50 mins I saw. Certainly better than his invisible appearances for QPR. Mousinho appears to be a good manager and will perhaps get the best out of AD. |  | | |

Both good players. Downes the better of the two but completely different styles. Dozzell is a really silky footballer with a good brain and can thread a beautiful pass. He lacks the athleticism and strength to be a top champ player although with quality all around him he would do ok.
Downes is a quality player. Good engine, very tidy and has good aggression and engine on him. Top champ player and potentially can play Prem but still question marks. He's not a player to get you off your seat. He's a link up front the back and sniff out danger player. A more aggressive Cole Skuse type that fans "never get the fuss about" but managers love. | |

I only watched that game because it was on free ITV and it's Chappers, innit.
Downes was fairly anonymous whilst Dozzell getting involved everywhere.
I did like the look of Pompey's left winger, Murphy, but we've got enough of those already.
I noticed several times Chappers getting into the box waiting for the classic Ipswich cutback from the left but Murphy's not on his wavelength just yet. |  | | |
