Wolves palace Brentford Everton with moyes, Fulham , Brighton .. look at the league this season, some really poor starts for some teams..probably a bloody good year to have gone up.

Last season the teams that had particularly bad seasons were Man Utd and Spurs. If Wolves and Everton had underperformed to the same level it would have been much closer for relegation. There is a long way to go, though, and the promoted sides are going to need to keep up their performances and results.

Nah. Wolves, Palace and Everton had terrible starts last year. Only accumulating just over 20 points only ends one way. Sunderland in particular look like they might be more competitive this year.

All the teams struggling will either pick-up or if not change their manager and then pick up. However, at the moment the promoted teams look well placed to give anyone taking their foot off the pedal a run for their money, especially Sunderland who I have been very impressed with. They've all got that important first win that we could've done with getting and nearly did on a handful occasions early on, as they know they can do it and what they need to do to get it, plus the momentum that can be built from there. Really hope they don't all fall off like we did.

Just to add to this, Burnley have lost 3 out of 4, and Leeds haven't scored a goal since they beat Everton 1-0 in the opener. You can argue that Burnley were unlucky today, with the timing of the goal, but look at the stats for the game - 81% possession and 27 shots to 3. That's not a sustainable way to play football! Not having a pop at Burnley by the way, just a reflection of how uncompetitive the league is. [Post edited 14 Sep 16:01]

Wolves, Everton, Palce and West Ham had particularly awful starts last season. I don't think we dropped into the bottom three before October but I stand to be corrected.

Burnley held out longer than we did against Liverpool but the final outcome was the same (no points). I am unsurprised that Burnley are very difficult to break down as that has been their system that got them promoted too. I doubt that will be enough to keep them up but snatch a few 1-0 wins with their backs to the wall and you never know.

I suspect Sunderland will get found out also. if any of them stay up, wouldnt have an issue with Burnley but Leeds and Sunderland I'd love to see relegated

Nope this year should be stronger as all three promoted went down last year. Sunderland have recruited really well hence their good start. Everton and wolves had awful starts last season. In fact when we played wolves they were in total dissaray but still outplayed us, we got a lucky last minute goal after being battered all second half.

It was attack verses defence today - and Burnley’s defence was very well organised until the player at the end lost the plot. It actually reminded me just how uncompetitive the Premier League is. When the established teams get up to speed, the promoted sides will struggle with the possible exception of Sunderland who I’ve not seen play yet. They’ve certainly started well with points on the board and a draw at Palace is not to be sneezed at.
Is it fair to say already….. on 17:32 - Sep 14 with 786 views | MrBeckinsale | You can’t really tell, unless those promoted teams have exactly the same order of fixtures against the same teams, so that it’s completely comparable, you can’t say. Getting a few points on the board and building confidence can make a massive difference.

Is it fair to say already….. on 17:58 - Sep 14 with 658 views | bsw72 | Hmmm. Hard to say. After 4 games last season we had 2 points and had scored 2 goals and went on to being unbeaten in September. Our games included Liverpool and City. True that all the promoted clubs have won at least a game and Sunderland certainly started well. I think Leeds have got problems, only scored a single goal which was a penalty and not looking like creating chances while conceding at the other end. Burnley also struggling for goals after a bright first couple of games.
