Can KM turn this around? 17:21 - Sep 20 with 6994 viewsBouncebackIpswich

Shocking performance YET AGAIN today. A team lacking fluidity and attacking patterns, unable to string passes together and control games, toothless but also defensively fragile and this is despite having players on the pitch like Cajuste and Davis who are clearly far too good for the league.

A special shout out to Kasey Mcateer who would be overpriced at 120K, 12 mill in what world... He is woeful.

Having serious doubts about McKenna now, starting to look like a busted flush. Can he actually turn this around like we all assumed he would given a few games?

As Frank S says, what utter bobbins.

And as for Macateer, bet you enjoyed Jaden's hat trick the other week. He didn't have a great start to career here.

Macateer is no slouch. Works hard. Clearly liked for many reasons. Maybe give him more than a handful of games?

Exactly this a hand full of games that’s all. We have had a few since KMc has been here that have started poorly but the manager knows what he is doing. I do wonder how many of the users on here are sat in their mums basement in a dark corner of Narwich making comments here.

McAteer looks another overpriced unnecessary player to add to the pile.

Philogene had one decent game mostly due to Ben Godfrey. Down arrow all you like but he's been terrible since signing.

So has/were Greaves, Clarke, Muric, Ben Johnson.

There are serious questions and I fear they will only get raised by fans when the penny drops that we'll be midtable.

We definitely have spaffeda lot of money up the wall!

We got lucky with Omar n Delap but how many come off?

The guy who is still at Boro maybe would have improved us.

Another person unaware how things went for Sir Bobby at the start of some seasons.

And he hadn't got two promotions under his belt either. Some of this narrative is breathtaking

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

What a load of utter bobbins. First half, in flashes, we were looking like 23/24. Some really good passing moves, Matusiwa's getting the hang of the Morsy turn-and-break, cutting edge wasn't quite there yet but I've rarely felt as confident we were going to go on and win a game. Second half we were dreadful, but given we were pretty much trying to play a quick-passing game in a lake by that point it's hardly surprising. So stop pissing your smalls, we're going to be fine.

We were trying to play a passing game on a lake - and we’ll be fine.

Oxymoron .., pub manger’s wouldn’t do that!!

We were shocking and have been (mostly) for our last 44 games…, hardly form is it.., more an elephant in the room…, and even promotion isn’t ‘fine’

McKenna and Ashton are SO far from premier league ability it’s a death by a thousand cuts.., £200 million and you’re happy with ‘fine’ Christ alive…, bet you hounded Mick when he spent £3.25 and was twice as good results wise.

Pathetic apologists…, wrong type of rain innit.

You've clearly entrenched your position so that nothing anyone else says will alter your opinion. We get it.
What you don't get is that we played last season 18 better teams than us. We all know that. We had no European scouting system, no access to the Brighton super computer, and a limit on what we could spend. We've been forced into sale of players good enough for the Prem. And now we're trying to both build a promotion team but also one that can stay up. It's not easy to do. The club have a whole infrastructure of which on the admin side Ashton is the head and on the playing side KM is the head. It's not just 2 guys... it's a whole process. Some of us have bought into that and until things get really dire will stick with it.

He's genuinely league 2 level, a runner/trier and somehow McKenna and Ashton have thought it's worth forking out 12 MILLION pounds for him... Some of the decisions regarding recruitment have been scary

Respectfully disagree.

We were cr@p at Brum, and not good against PNE or Derby.

We created plenty of chances yesterday on a terrible wet pitch.

Their keeper made 3 great saves first half. Smods really should have scored from 2 yards out.

Matisuwa looked very good to me. Leif and Philogene then Leif and Clarke linking up very nicely down the left. More work needed on the right. Norwegian lad is hopefully the answer. Plus Young as an alternative to Furlong when needed.

Central defence is a concern. To a lesser extent so is GK and CF.

Expect us to win more games soon, and to be in Top 6 by Nov-Dec.

I could be wrong though of course.

Horrible but have wondered for quite a while has McKenna lost his way. We seem to have good players on paper but under performing on a regular basis. We seem to be slow pondous at times.
Lose to Portsmouth and Narwich toxic will be a understatement.

If this happens, he'll be gone.

Ah here comes the classic toxic positivity poster, every one who doesn't agree with my relentlessly blue tinted glasses is a 'troll' or 'budgie'. Sorry for expecting more given we are the top spenders in this division and supposedly have the best manager but guess I should be just glad we're not in League 1 any more clap clap clap 👏👏👏👏👏

Careful Herbivore. With his laser insight and balanced approach, the OP will put you on ignore if you are not careful. I hope you can live with the disappointment. It’s taken me a while to come to terms with it, but I think I’ll pull through.

I'm not overly worried, this one isn't bright enough to realise we can see all of their posts, including the many posts where they talk about being a Leicester fan and referring to us as "you boys" when we got promoted. It's very odd that they're now trying to pass themselves off as a Town fan.

Whilst im not quite sure of mcateers overall ability, if Philogene scores his chance, we'd all be saying what a great assist it was. lets be fair, it was a very solid ball across for Philogene to score. That's exactly what Wes did for Chappers.. So yeah similarities between the two, im not quite sure as yet where the rest of the value comes in, but im leaving it a while before making judgement overall

I think it's fair to say I'm a fan of Ipswich given I made this account to offer messages of encouragement dating back to the relegation to league 1 days - given Leicester had done the same and ultimately came through it stronger - quite a lot of commitment to trolling to still be here after 8/9 years later - but hey you do you fella.

I am extremely concerned with the performances on the pitch we've seen this year, the recruitment strategy over the past 2 summers and the money we've spent on overpriced dress like mcateer and Clarke. It doesn't bode well for the club and KMc is going to have to up his game sooner rather than later or this golden situation we are in risks being frittered sway.

Wanting Town to do well and caring does sometimes means being negative and pointing out criticism when it's warranted but it seems any sort of criticism and concern is met by snide replies, personal attacks and censorship by the likes of yourself and plenty of others on here. Not even sure why I'm bothering to write out my reasoning here asI'm sure all that will come back is a smart aleck one liner that adds nothing to the conversation.

OK, so you're a Leicester fan (which is pretty clear from your constant criticism of Town), so you have that view of him. I've been following his career for a long time, and yes - Leicester weren't good for him.

I'd suggest you go back to the Leicester (cheaters) forum, and come back here in a year to see what a season at a proper club does for him.

You support Leicester. There are numerous posts where you refer to yourself as a Leicester fan and refer to Town, appropriately, as "you". If you're now claiming to be a Town fan that's pretty odd, grown ups don't tend to switch to supporting a different team when that team starts doing well. What's equally odd is the relentlessly negative tone of your posts about us. Why switch to supporting Town (if you really have, which I doubt) only to then seemingly hate them? You're probably a troll, but if you aren't you are most definitely an oddball.

Again not sure why bothering to reply properly but I'll give it a go to explain. I've always had a soft spot for Town since young not sure why and when it became impossible to get to Leicester games with all the Johnny come latelys (I don't have a season ticket as live too far away in Milton Keynes) I started going to Town games first one was Bristol Rovers in 2018 I want to say? Can't remember but we lost 3-1, bloody miserable. Since then I've been to about 20 Town games at Portman Road when it's possible to get tickets, love the friendly town, pubs, and fanbase and since I can rarely get to Leicester games other than the odd away I consider myself just as much as Ipswich fan than Leicester in fact I'd say Ipswich are #1 definitely feel I'd rather we go up than LCFC.

So hope that's ok, my explanation and fandom is acceoted and approved by you and the supporter police 😂😂😂
