Getting the link ups tighter with the other forwards will help him as well - nobody is really playing off him at the moment, Szmodics quiet, would like to see Akpom back in after 60. | |

Tbh he had a solid game
The issue was again tho he had a chance a quality striker scores and he fluffed it.
Thankfully davis put one on a plate for him to make up for it. But it's those misses that we really can't have from him when it comes to tighter games.
But his overall game was fine. |  |

Thought Smozdics ran his socks off this afternoon and did well to last the full game, his and Hirst's runs did a lot to unsettle the Pompey defence. Only downside was Smozdics ran too fast at times and moves broke down due to a couple of offsides. |  |

I feel with Sammy he just needs that 1 goal to kick-start his season.
He worked his bullox off today and got in some great positions too. He could and should have had an assist with hirst and a goal to his name today.
I don't think he had a poor performance far from it. He just isn't hitting his Blackburn heights. | |

Not for me. One thing I really appreciated was Hirsts hold up play today. Really shone a n that keeping the ball as an outlet, very strong on that aspect today. I would pair him with an out an out goal scorer. But in the flesh today, I was impressed. Azon different, and didn't take his chance, just wide. Not a hold up player.. |  |
