Thought we were excellent as the away team today. Best we have played for a long time until sucker punch goal. Allowed them to sit back.

Dominated the ball. They had a threat on the counter as you would expect but we were by far the better team away against a side who will be up there in the playoffs come the end.

Way more positives than negatives.

Wow, really? I'll take the point but the performance was ponderous and disjointed. Possession is meaningless without threat and our defending was all over the place. I guess we see things very differently!

Interesting opinion.

Looked to me like two poor sides, no real quality between the sides, the lack of quality in the front line is concerningly poor, and ultimately our biggest downfall at the moment.

Thought we did ok tonight.. Had City won, they'd be 2nd atm. So they are no pushovers.

Thought we had a few 5/10's out there. Ans looked a bit blunt in their 3rd.

Few weeks ago we were losing games like that (Preston away for example)

Take a point on the road. If you can't win, then don't lose.

Bit worrying to me that they just looked a lot more dangerous going forward despite all our possession. Something just isn’t quite right, let’s hope KM figures out what. Not sure that amount of changes helped but we need to use the squad. This really is a poor division. We need burns back and firing. And possibly a proper/more effective 10 in Jan. Plus cover for Azor who was excellent, again. Keep the faith 🙌🏻

I do get that. We never feel safe do we. Bit of the risk and reward of McKenna system!

Think we keep cranking it up. As the games come thick and fast we will only get better.

I think I can appreciate that it became much more difficult when they could set up and protect their lead.

We are missing that final cutting edge at times but week on week you can see improvement.

This was a tough game and what I like is we were the dominant team even if they carried a threat on the counter.

We weren't perfect but i was looking past the result. Thought it was a good away performance.

With our squad and outlay, we should be regularly blowing teams away. I have patience for Wes Burns from Fleetwood for £50k but we are now in a different place financially and are expectations sadly are much higher.

Anything except autos is unqualified failure.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I suppose the difference may be just that some are thinking primarily of the game tonight and closing the gap to the top of the league (fair enough), while others are thinking of the way things are developing and how good we're going to be in a month or two's time.

If there were half a dozen teams pulling away at the top things might be different, but I'm very comfortable with how we're developing.

Without wanting to be too contradictory I didn't think we were awful tonight but we created very few chances, their keeper had an easy night.

I'd also completely disagree with your last paragraph and say the result was better than the performance.

Rarely how it works in reality though is. Certainly not this early. And I don't think that many teams will blow Bristol City away anyway in this league. (Don't forget our mega money L1 team under cook. Both a cautionary tale and one that shows you the progress that can be made).

This a team that has to do the hard yards and come together. Could see some really good patterns emerging. We don't have it over 90 mins and as some have said we get disjointed at times. But starting to see good things.

Would he?

Nutkins is a good balanced poster in my experience.

Nutkins is a good poster. He tends to be very balanced in his views so is clearly not playing FM25 enough. The bedwetters are clearly back because we didn’t win. Fair enough, up to them.

Sack the set piece coach. Sack the people who appointed him including McKenna who should have us top with 39 points by now, Ashton for appointing any of them and all the players who weren’t here two years ago because they are cr@p and a waste of money based on price of players in 2021.

Oh for those happy days of ‘our Nors’, tub o lard Pitman, immobile Douglas, glass knees Huws where the hate was only tipped on Knudson because he looked like a squirrel and his long throws only led to the opposition scoring. People were so much happier.

An away point at this stage of the season isn’t the worst result even if we got battered for 90 mins and got lucky with a favouring ref and rank good fortune. From the negativity I assume that’s the case, but will watch it back in the next day or two and take I hope an objective view.

Solid away performance, need to work out a better cutting edge and the goal cost us dear as allowed them to sit back with 11 in a block.

Akpom needs to add more likewise Macateer

Didn’t Oxford beat Bristol city in Bristol quite comfortably? Should we not expect to as well with a £200m squad ?

Honestly that's the biggest positive right now - this league is total, total drek this year; no Leeds, Burnley or Blunts streets ahead of everyone else.

We should, of course, be emulating the above, which is a very sizeable concern.

I'm not comfortable, at all, with how we're developing. Right hand side is a mess, no one grabbing the No.10 role (I do hope Chaplin is happy to be home), and no obvious striker.

Promoted teams win away games - we haven't looked like winning any of the 4 we've played so far, not even close.

Fingers crossed mate. I do wonder if Nunez is the closest we have to someone who can perform the Chaplin type role. Dropping deep and linking. As neither akpom or sammie is working so far. Square pegs. And as a result we look somewhat toothless upfront. It’ll come - a win on Sunday and things will look all the sweeter.

But why recruit people unsuited to the role and get rid of someone who is?

£200m? Why not say £500m? Equally inaccurate and sounds better.
