Slightly surprised by the level of negativity on here tbh 21:57 - Sep 30 with 3589 viewsDubtractor

We'll see many more games like that this season, where teams largely look to nullify us and play on the counter. We need to be better in the final third, and a few players weren't at their best tonight, but we're not going to rock up to the grounds of play off chasing teams and blow them away. It just isn't going to happen, and I think some of our fanbase need to recalibrate their expectations a bit.

That's 7 points from the last 3 games, and the chance to shut the budgies up on Sunday.

There is plenty to be getting behind, if you want to.

We need to improve our set pieces at either end too. We were pretty shocking at both ends on that front.

Anyway, a win on Sunday will be a real shot in the arm. Onwards and upwards, COYB!

We are 13th in the championship with a net spend of £100m of players who should be embarrassing at this level.

I'm surprised by how meek some of our fans expectations are given our context. Fair enough if it was still in the Evans days but the game has changed. Literally.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Exactly, we have the most expensive player and squad ever in this league I believe so blowing play off teams away maybe not but we should be able to beat them 2-1.

Not been a great start overall but come on it's really daft to be using table position at this stage of the season. A couple of favourable results and we're knocking on the top 2 if not in it.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Bang on mate. We wanted 3 points but not an easy away game that.

Fortunately a poor team heading to Portman road at the weekend.

Egeli.. raw first time playing English football . ( remember how omari ended up after 6 month of first ever senior loan)
Akpom. No pre season
Cajuste is
Nunez had ankle injury getting over it
Mcateer hmm
Azon.. signs are there but will take a few months
Furlong. Solid
Young. Back up

We have played 7 games FFS. If we're 13th in a couple of months then absolutely we should be grumbling about it, at least have an attempt at patience. If we'd won tonight we'd have been 6th, that's how close the table is at the moment.

I'm not saying we were good tonight, because we weren't, but I just think that getting upset by a solid but unspectacular performance away to a play off team isn't the right reaction.

That was poor tonight I thought. But overall we are on an upward curve. Need to replicate some of our home form away.

Anything except autos is unqualified failure for us with our squad, management team and broader investment.

I've seen plenty of signs to think we aren't going to be up to much this season. Including tonight.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

November, December and January is where our big squad will really shine. This season has been stop start so far. But the 3 months mentioned above we have lots of games and we have the numbers now to cover for injuries, suspension and poor form. At the moment all teams are full of energy. But a couple of back to back 3 game weeks will show the squads worth.

It’s a draw away at a team who finished 6th last season and are currently 5th.

Obviously there are still issues to work on, at both ends of the pitch, but it does feel like the total loss of perspective is insane. Anyone who’s ever watched the championship should know better than expecting us to win comfortably every week.

Back it up with a win on Sunday and this looks like a very decent point.

Using the place is irrelevant. Win out game in hand and we're 4th.

I would say more negatives than positives from that game.

First half, sloppy, no shots on target and yet another set piece goal conceded.

Better 2nd half but didn’t really kick on after drawing level.

It seems we can’t make subs before 20 mins when that game was crying out for them.

Have to say that Akpom, McAteer, Nunez are all underwhelming at the moment. Not an upgrade on Chappers / Broady and we really miss Burns A lot.

13th, with a game in hand and a squad that has massive potential once everything kicks.

You could see the potential at times tonight, and that will realise itself soon enough.

We do seem to have a fair number of fans that have evolved into what many of us despise of fans at other clubs in the past. Just like (for example) the entitled Leeds fans, who expected to just turn up and win.

I’d have taken a point before the game began. Now for 3 points on Sunday…

We seem good in parts and then we look like a bunch of strangers.

I do think we need to give them time to "click" but also they can't get a free ride (ala Premier League). The players may need to gel, but they still should have enough quality to beat a lot of the teams.

I think tonight we had too many changes. Maybe it was necessary.

Thanks Dubbers

Currently we lack a bit of cohesion, but that's it. We've lost one game in 7 and no one is really running away with the league. Only one team is averaging 2 points per game or more.

Are people over-reacting? Of course they are.

Thanks for your sense of proportion.

So you're happy with our 4 away displays given our outlay and relative stability in playing and management staff? 5/6 or so who started tonight regularly played in the prem last season. Palmer, Davis, O'Shea, Greaves, Clarke, Cajuste/Philogene/Hirst.
