KMc got it wrong tonight.. 00:02 - Oct 1 with 2827 views | Wallingford_Boy | If you’re honest you know that Giving Nunez a start for the sake of it, dropping Philogene. Big game and we got it wrong. Missed opportunity. Shame. Cue the downvotes for questioning him….

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 11:12 - Oct 1 with 334 views | Bobbychase | For the sake of it. What? Do you honestly think that? Cajuste is a class above most midfielders in this division if not all of them, but we know he cannot play a full season so rotation is wise. It's not like bringing in Nunez significantly weakens the team. We controlled most of that game last night and the team was good enough to win and had Hirst buried that late header we probably would have done. The corner Bristol City won to take the lead from was their first excursion into our box, and then they sat back and defended deep. McAteer was the one big quandry from last night. He tracks back well but seems scared to take on his man and his delivery is often poor.

Nunez is a quality player who needs to start at some point, and Cajuste (who he replaced) needs to have a rest. I'd have thought it was pretty straightforward. I do think McKenna changed too much though. We looked like a bunch of strangers again, at times.

If we are going to succeed this season then players like Szmodics and Akpom need time and goals. We can't have two Championship golden boot winners as fringe players. We have to rotate to get everyone firing. It's a long season and players get injured, we need replacements ready to go.

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 13:10 - Oct 1 with 251 views | southnorfolkblue | Nunez was always going to start given Cajustes knee issues. I totally get that. It was the resting of Hirst and particularly JP that I didn't get. I felt at the time that we had over rotated. I still feel that's the case a day on

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 09:59 - Oct 1 by ITFC_Forever | Seem to remember many demanding Nunez starts a game or two ago. |
Probably not at the same time as dropping your top 2 scorers, letting a new striker lead the line for the first time, and making six changes.

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 11:02 - Oct 1 by FrimleyBlue | Wouldn't quite put it like that but in a way yes Id say he hoped he could get 3 points, but I Doubt he honestly thought it would get it |
Why on earth wouldn't he think we could get 3 points from that. They lost at home to Oxford less than 10 days ago? It's Bristol City, not Man city!!

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 07:29 - Oct 1 by Chocorange | For me , this reminded me of when we were in league 1 (early part of the promotion season)with supposedly a far better squad than every other team , when KM made changes to rotate players every time there was a midweek game. It didn’t work and we dropped points and fell behind Plymouth and Wednesday. Only when we had the game at Bristol Rovers where it all kicked off with Morsy and some fans ( that night we had Aluko and.a young Humphreys starting ) and it ended 0-0 dropping us even further behind to the point it seemed impossible did we then stop making changes for changes sake , had a settled team and went on the brilliant winning run. Fast forward to now, we supposedly have a far better squad , we made lots of changes… we have seen it so so often in cup games… thinking our squad players are more than good enough as in that league 1 campaign. Is it to keep players happy? if so they proved last night they have work to do to deserve the chance to be picked. Do we really want to gamble the clubs future and promotion by playing all of those squad players together. You can change one maybe two, and the team work and link up play will still be there, change 6 and the quality drop off is clear. We have seen what is happening to Sheffield United this season and many other teams that miss out on promotion back the the Premier league at the first attempt… the chance is gone forever. |
So in short, McKenna doesnt appear to be learning does he.

Mainly because we had 5 players on the pitch who aren't fully fit yet. I think he'd have hoped for 3 and felt the finishers could come on and help on that front too. But I just think he's first thought was to use last night as the optimal time to freshen things up to get everyone upto speed.

KMc got it wrong tonight.. on 21:01 - Oct 1 with 77 views | flykickingbybgunn | For me Jack Clarke and Nunez are impact players. Great when they come on later in the game. I would not start with either. But I would bring them on earlier that KMcK tends to do.
