so are we feeling positive for the derby? 10:06 - Oct 1 with 1054 viewsblueasfook

I personally am. They're not in great form and I think they have a few injuries. We're unbeaten at home, and won our last 2. I think we'll do 'em 3-0

Yeah, I think I am. Performances have been getting better but still far from great.

If we play positively we should beat them and then keep on getting better.

Think we’ll win rather easily.

I'm almost more confident off the back of last night than less. I wouldn't trust us to put 2 or 3 really good performances together consecutively at the moment, so had we looked properly on song last night my head would be saying a duff one is due Sunday.

Last night was 'meh'. Result was OK, performance OK on balance but nothing more than a 6/10 IMO. Decent for the first 20 minutes and for 10-15 after our goal, otherwise sloppy, gave away possession cheaply at times, didn't get a lot of the basics right, somewhat slow and ponderous on the ball and unable to create anything too meaningful by way of chances.

I think we're due a more complete performance, if we've saved it for Sunday happy days.

You say there in bad form but if they win tonight, they go above us!

My worry is they get the first goal and the game turns into a Derby, Preston, Bristol City where they stick 10 men behind the ball and we struggle to break them down which has been the theme of our season so far.

The first goal is absolutely crucial IMO

I'm quietly optimistic about Sunday. The fact that we're not experiencing a rich vein of form right now dispels any danger of overconfidence or complacency, but the recent improved performances at home gives me some belief that we could do it, certainly.

We are long overdue a derby win. It's been what 15/16 years?

It’s been a while but that’ll have no bearing at all on what happens on Sunday.

We should win if we go out confident, impose ourselves but level headed. It’ll only suit Norwich if we get suckered into playing a much more frenzied and heated style.

I wanna see crunching tackles, a brutal hostile crowd, Delia crying and KM and Manning have a punch up in the dug out.

Proper derby

Bloody should be.

We've rested Cajuste and Philogene. Walle Egeli has had a few minutes to get up to speed. Greaves did pretty well last night. Davis appears to be fully fit.

No excuses.

Absolutely, nothing like a bit of childhood trauma for them to carry into adulthood.

The concern is we look like we will give at least 1 goal away every game and by that I mean the opposition does not have to work very hard for it. Like last night, first set piece/attempt and it is a goal, that seems to happen most weeks.

The concern would be if Norwich score first, then they sit back, waste time and we lose the crowd.

We have to have a fast start like last Saturday and get 1-2 goals up, we then should win easily.

They are going to come and defend and make it hard for us to break them down, something we have struggled to do nearly every game this season. I think we will win it, just, but I wouldn't say confident is the right word. IF we can only get an early goal I feel we could bury them as they are rank bad when having to "come out" and play.

My biggest hope is that we are actually up for it as much as they always seem to be, for the last Sixteen years we have often looked like it means nothing to us.

Kind of positive. But wary that Norwich have done ok on the road. Their last two away games have been perfect examples of what they did against us in the 2023-24 season. Concede tons of chances, somehow manage to squirm away with a point.

First goal is absolutely crucial.

Very. We’re at home, our players have an extra days rest compared to them who have a tough game tonight, a strong squad meant we rested several key players who are likely to start on Sunday, we’ve got back to back wins at home and they’ve one got one player who would get into our team. 4-0 Town.

definitely not. I tried that a couple of years ago, when we were far more on the up than they were - and look what happened then. This time around, are we really that we're much better than they are atm?

No reason not to, though I know Sergent will score. I just know it!

Yes I'm confident we'll win, Jens and Azor will be too good in the middle, Jaden will terrorise them.I also have a hunch one of the newer players are going to step up and be highly influential!🤞
As others have said if we concede in the first 10-15 it's going to become a much tougher game
