And it helps explain the dodgy moments in the first half at times. Whilst they probably in this phase been tighter. Tactically they were set up right and we really needed gutsy defenders to play through that. [Post edited 6 Oct 12:31]

Is it chappers... no its egeli on 12:29 - Oct 6 with 1416 views | Metal_Hacker | Yeah have seen that attempted a couple of times recently Love those old patterns , albeit the one I remember from Chappers most vividly was the goal against Hull or was it Coventry Either way great to see ! EDIT - I touched on something yesterday I think ti was about the styles in play and the differences from right hand side and the left hand side . I might be misreading this but we're overloading the right side , O'Shea to Furlong and back and back and back dragging the oppostion over that side leaving Davis and Philogene in acres to rip em a new one. Once the time is right as per this example and Chappers before that ball is whalloped cross field [Post edited 6 Oct 12:32]

I don't know of course, but I doubt that this was something he was doing at his previous club. To have picked this up so well, so effectively, so 'Chappersly', here, so quickly suggests that he's a capable and quick learner. I'm fkn salivating at the thought of what KMc is going to produce with this kid, and very quickly I suspect.

His natural ability to spot a pass is not something generally that is coached - a couple of my old coaches use to refer to it as having football intelligence and it is a natural ability that is developed and enhanced but rarely coached from scratch. Some players can just see things that other's can't, and never will.
I'd say Egeli is already ahead of schedule in settling into Champ on 13:21 - Oct 6 with 1022 views | unstableblue | The lad is 19 The step up in league intensity, quality and matchday atmosphere has been significant. But he's improving every game, including his defensive work. You pick out a great pass, that wasn't speculative, and this mixing up of our play unsettles teams. Which as you say broke the impressive Norwich and exposed them being lite in numbers back. But Egeli had some great play cutting inside in the second half, and whilst the end product wasn;t there at all times, Norwich were struggling to contain him. I know he cost a fortune and he's expected to play, but I'd suggest Egeli is probably ahead of expectations and perhaps game time? Do you think McAteer was expected to be the first choice on the right up till Egeli was fully up to speed?

Is it chappers... no its egeli on 13:28 - Oct 6 with 950 views | TractorJack | I think we could see an Omari esque impact 2nd half of the season, possibly sooner. Love his left foot, also love he can go down the line and dig out a cross with his right.
Is it chappers... no its egeli on 13:37 - Oct 6 with 869 views | OldFart71 | I thought the ball that led to the corner when we scored was decent. The commentator said it was a poor ball. I suppose given that the budgies keeper made a horlicks of it possibly made it look worse than it was .
Is it chappers... no its egeli on 13:50 - Oct 6 with 759 views | glasso | Watching that again in slow motion, I've no idea why the ref has given that against Hirst. Couldn't be more of a 50/50. Both players have their arms around each other and the Norwich player just loses out on strength | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Is it chappers... no its egeli on 13:54 - Oct 6 with 731 views | itfcsuth | I think the lads talent is undoubted - very raw still, but I think his talent is evident - going to be very exciting watching him develop - and hopefully a sign of the future operating in the European markets. As you say, that is very Chappers esc, used to be his trademark to Burns in particular, didn't even used to look before passing.

It's a 'blind' pass based on perhaps a glance a few seconds before, but more so on picking up on patterns of play at a new club so well. It also requires a lot of confidence and calm thinking under pressure, because the instinct is to protect the ball and not give it away cheaply. It just looks so much like Conor Chaplin and it's bloody great.
