It's far more simple than that. We are in a three game week, we have a very large and talented squad which we are utilising. |
We're utilising them AND we're getting everyone up to speed to cope with the inevitable enforced changes AND we're protecting players where other teams will be thrashing their best players (throughout the season) AND we are good enough to be taking this approach. |  |

I think we have to stop thinking of as a traditional 7 changes. He is essentially rotating units. The finishers start together this game. It's arguably less disruption as they are used to being on the pitch together as a unit. That's kind of the theory.
We are trying to utilise our strength and it's over the course of the season that we potentially get the marginal gains rather than any one match.
Not without risk of course but if it comes off a bit more than it doesn't then it would help us on the weekend games. | |
