| Who would you get to replace McKenna? on 15:55 - Oct 22 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Of course there is, people are deluded if they think there is not. We have the most expensive Champ squad ever assembled pretty much so top 2 would be the expectation. I don't expect them to do anything unless we are a way off the playoffs which is basically impossible in this league. I don't think he would be coming back next year if we are outside the top 6, things would have turned bad by then anyway. Ipswich fans have had two decades of misery and two seasons of pure joy with McKenna at the helm, so there is that huge emotional attachment from stuff a few years ago. However, if truth be told, at other clubs he would already be under the spotlight more than here with the way 2025 has gone. Ashton and McKenna are also very much linked, even if we are hanging around mid table at Christmas I don't really see it. We'd just be a few wins off the top 6. My Spurs supporting mate was asking me the other week in a bar in LA how much pressure he is under (that was the night before Norwich ) and I laughed but I imagine the perception outside Ipswich is quite different about him as a coach at the moment. Fair few West Ham fans round these ends wanted him when Potterball was falling apart | |

| Who would you get to replace McKenna? on 16:33 - Oct 22 by JammyDodgerrr | Please name them. There have been about 100 posts saying this since last night and not a single one names a manager. [Post edited 22 Oct 16:34]

That’s an unrealistic request. There are going to be managers who could do a good job here when KM moves on. Of course the challenge is finding one who’s going to be successful, but to entertain the idea there won’t be any unless they can be named now is nonsensical. It’s possible nobody’s ever heard the name of the person who will be our next manager, much like very few of us will have heard of McKenna before he joined us. Not that I’m saying we should change him. And I don’t have much patience with people calling for his head; they have short memories and even shorter attention spans.

Blimey, I'd never seen this one. Poor old Frimmers could write a book of hot takes.

| Who would you get to replace McKenna? on 15:36 - Oct 22 by BlueForYou | If Mckenna is so good, then why does he never change anything?? Why does he accept a defence which costs us games on a regular basis?? Why do we always play the same way?? He failed miserably in the Premier League. He did oversee the two promotion years, but that credit is getting pretty low now. What is our run now, won only 7 from 48 games?? I like him & dont want him to go, but we need him to improve our current team drastically. |
He literally gets grief for changing too many things game to game (including the defence) and here you are saying he never changes anything!

The OP is literally asking people to name them. I disagree that it's nonsensical to pick one. If someone thinks there's a better manager than McKenna (that we could get) then they should name them. If they won't name them, then that brings into question their statement that there's a better manager than McKenna.

It's a thread asking people who they would replace him with. I don't think I'm asking for much.

| Who would you get to replace McKenna? on 11:25 - Oct 23 with 149 views | Bobbychase | There was a highly-rated young manager who got his club to the play-offs last year with limited resources, would love to see what he would be able to do with some cash and a bit of backing. What was his name now Ah yes, Liam Manning. Do you see the stupidity of your post yet? The risk of changing everything we have built over the past three years to take a punt on another young manager. | |

| Who would you get to replace McKenna? on 11:00 - Oct 22 by southnorfolkblue | To be clear I'm not advocating him to be sacked. I think he's too smart a coach not to turn this around, but if I were going to replace him I'd go for something a bit more pragmatic like Steve Cooper |
Jesus.. he couldn't get a tune out of his last clubs
