| Medical advice needed please 10:49 - Nov 4 with 1541 views | GlasgowBlue | I'm having surgery for an inguinal hernia on 27th November. The Blackburn game is 5 days later on the 2nd December. Is it too realistic to think that I can go to the game? Obviously I would need to sit for most pf the game. I had the same surgery of the other side a few years ago and there is a pho of me flying a glider two weeks later built it was a while back and I can't remember what my movement was like just 5 days after the operation. If anyone has had recent surgery could you please advise. [Post edited 4 Nov 2025 11:14]

Obviously everyone is different, but i'd say be hopeful :)

In all honestly, I would book that one off and avoid the uncertainty all together, give yourself that buffer to make sure your wayward knobs are tight and your pistons are lubed. After 5 days, I was still quite sore and getting up and down was a bit of a challege. Probably best to swerve this one in my opinion, but entirely your decision.

| Medical advice needed please on 13:56 - Nov 4 with 1083 views | RegencyBlue | I had bilateral (double) hernia surgery about a year ago. I went to a match about 8/9 days afterwards and was OK until we scored. Automatically jumping up to celebrate I realised it wasn’t such a good idea. No damage done but I did wonder for a while! | | | |

Perhaps they could speak to the club closer to the time who may be able to help transfer the seat to one of the padded seats.

Keyhole recovery time much better and day 5 probably OK but you will need to take it very easy. Open surgery - personally my movement was still restricted and uncomfortable on day 5 and I would not have risked going to a match with long travel.

Open. Which is the same as last time. I hadn't actually fractured in the travelling time to get Blackburn.

| Medical advice needed please on 10:11 - Nov 6 with 509 views | mutters | Going back 25+ years i had a hernia op a week before the infamous 5-0 Norwich game so I had the same decision to make. I managed to come through it with stitches in place, though I did have to control myself on a few occasions. Once we went 3 up it was more easier to not go crazy, though being in the old North stand it wasn't always easy 🤣 I imagine that modern surgery is more effective these days, so I say go for it and I was certainly glad I did! | |
