Hopefully he parachutes onto the roof of the stadium at Wolves, watching over his new players who seek to impress, walloping Chelsea; Maresca sacked; Lampard poached by Monday; Town are going to win the fking league. 🎶 (repeat)

IF he goes, they’ve got a point. He’s only been there a few months. It’s like ditching your misses for the bridesmaid during your own wedding reception.

As much as this may aid us, I do feel for Boro here, especially Steve Gibson. He shows a lot of faith in his managers.

Yes they will certainly come out of it looking better than Edwards if he does leave them. I suppose it’s the way football is now though. Agree on Gibson - it’s a good club for a young manager to go to where they’ll get support and be able to develop.

| Quite a bold and risky move from Edwards on 12:14 - Nov 8 with 1145 views | unstableblue | There was a real buzz around the Riverside during what was a big win for them over us… and the fan base, team and ground looked in rude health. Strange to leave a promotion campaign at a big(ish) club with a good set of players, for a Wolves side who are really struggling. I guess one key reason is that Wolves do have some very good players, they could be made to click, it’s a bit of a sleeping giant, and Burnley, Leeds and AN Other may well fade big time. But a huge blow for Boro and a plus for us. | |

This has all the hallmarks of a disaster for Edwards... i can see a sacking and relegation for him withWolves. Should have stuck this out. And we shouldn't have to rely on another team losing a manager. Bit tin-pottish us thinking we've got an advantage from it.

Works the other way round though. If Edwards had lost the first ten matches, those fans demanding loyalty would be demanding him to be sacked rather than giving him a proper chance.

In his shoes I would be trying to get some assurances that the job would be mine next season if they’re relegated. On that basis the move might make sense, as there isn’t a chance they stay up. They’ll be a force in the championship next season though.

Will be a significant factor But seems a crazy move

| Rob Edwards on 13:50 - Nov 8 with 747 views | Zx1988 | Has a manager ever been given public permission to speak to a club, and then failed to agree terms? I know that there's so much back-channel communication in modern football, and Edwards will probably already know the terms on offer, but it would be funny if he was unable to agree terms with Wolves. | |

I'm thinking loyalty towards Steve Gibson ( a decent owner) who took a gamble on giving Edwards another chance after being sacked before leading Luton to a double relegation. Edwards could well have been left on the scrapheap as his reputation took a big dent.... but Gibson offered him more than he deserved and then just got it thrown back in̈ his face. Don't like it.

I've said it before. There should be a window for managers to go to other clubs in line with the player transfer windows. Clubs could still sack managers but outside the window they could only hire an unemployed manager to replace them.
