I would guess that Southampton and Middlesbrough would be the obvious first picks. One has parachute payments and the other is second in the league. Not sure there is much to pick between Norwich and Swansea, both spent a reasonable amount in the summer.

| You're an unemployed manager on 15:46 - Nov 11 with 2073 views | mellowblue | there is usually a good reason why the manager is unemployed . Probably a serial failure at management. In that position they would take any job and if it is a well paid Championship job, fantastic ! Longer contract the better. | | | |

| You're an unemployed manager on 16:53 - Nov 11 with 1842 views | MrPotatoHead | All quite attractive for a lot of managers I would guess. For me, this order: Middlesbrough - #1 especially given their current league position. If you want PL football they're the most attractive option. They've made a good start this season, a club that's been deprived of the top flight for so long. I can see a lot of appeal, go in there and win 20 games from the next 32 and you're probably going up. Stable owner, gives managers time, decent ground, and an opportunity to deliver what hasn't been delivered there in a long, long time. Southampton - The one of the 4 who feel like they could sustain PL life the most, they've had a decent crack in the not too distant past. Nice stadium, still got a good squad of players and have the benefit of following a few flops of managers there. A slow turnaround, but a possible one and reaching the P/O's isn't out of the question. Norwich - 'nice' club generally, maybe too nice. I'd be nervous about the disconnect between supporter expectations and current squad though. I think there's a lot of smart recruitment to do to align them, whether they have the budget to do it though. Also your boss can't demonstrate any evidence of having done that previously. Ever. Swansea - Just a bit 'meh'. I don't see a world where they'll mount a serious promotion challenge any time soon. OK squad but little more than that, your noisy Welsh 'neighbours' Wrexham have jumped above you, no realistic chance of mounting a promotion challenge for the foreseeable. Just feels like a job where 95% of Championship managers would have them finishing within 5 places of mid table, not a huge amount to get excited about IMO. | | | |

Buy a load of dross on long expensive contracts then, in six months, you get a big golden handshake when they sack you. In that time you could mess 'em up for a generation!

| You're an unemployed manager on 12:51 - Nov 12 with 872 views | gsoly | Southampton for me. No pressure to go up this season so, if you do, huge bonus. Otherwise you've got a summer of parachute money to further mould the squad and have a proper tilt at it next year. Boro's attractive right now, but a few bad results and you're under pressure. | | | |
