Both the Irish and Scotland have given a lesson to the rest of Europe in how to compete these last few days. Such belief.

Denmark and Hungary badly sh@t the bed in the face of it frankly.

All the emotion that England's qualifying games lack. Qualification means everything to them. For England it feels like an entitlement. So pleased for them.

What exactly do you want England to do? Lose a few to make it interesting? Not really entitlement is it.

England can't help being good enough to qualify with games to spare.

That’s what makes football so great. Well done Scotland fantastic game and result, very pleased to see them make it. Aside from when they come up against England they are a brilliant set of fans at a tournament!

As a fan we can never be sure but the Scotland squad looks to be one without too many big egos whereas England's seem to have a more tentative camaraderie, Hirst enthusiastically joining in with the post match celebrations despite being unused and getting a hug from Craig Gordon...or maybe George was the only other player tall enough for him to reach down to...

Saw 15 mins of the match the other day and that’s it. Boring because it just wasn’t competitive. I never bother with qualifiers.

As for the other countries, they desperately want loathed England to fail, so I really couldn’t give a hoot about them. Good effort from them though and I’m really pleased for our players who will get to experience a World Cup, even if it is in Trumpistan

Im pleased for the Scots but that comment is so unfair on Denmark. The Danes were clearly the better side, and by quite a margin. The second yellow for the sending off was a total joke (had it been against Scotland there would likely have been a riot).

That said Scotland showed great spirit and in McTominay they ave a player at his peak.

Maybe, but Denmark hurt themselves with that draw v Belarus more than anything. I think I meant it more with the overall pressure that was on them given Scotland not going away, already holding them to a draw in Copenhagen etc.

I will stick my head above the parapet: I was gutted Scotland got through. Didn’t want wales to get through either. Guess I am a miserable, bitter and twisted oldie stuck in the 1970’s and 1980’s rivalries!!! Plus the Scot’s and Welsh detest us with a passion, and the only thing they want more than their own teams qualifying, is England failing, and it’s a close run thing between those two!! I mean, I like the Scot’s and Welsh people’s, but I don’t want their footy teams to succeed on any level. There, I’ve said it. Speak to my lawyer (lovely Scotsman, very happy for him).

Kind of reflects how I feel - if Scottish fans didn’t take so much delight in England’s failures I’d be much more excited for them. That and 120 team tournaments mean all but Gibraltar qualify.

Meh to international football in general - roll on sat at FPR.
