Yep, if we were interested he’d already be here getting ready to hit the ground running. So it’s a safe bet we’re not interested. We can’t know for sure, but it would be extremely illogical for it to be any different. |  |

Morsy isn't coming back.
We do need cover in there though. I'm not putting the Charlton debacle down to that entirely, but its not a coincidence that its the 1 game Matusiwa missed. We don't have any natural cover for him in that #6 position. |  | | |

There just isn't the space practically for a new striker with Nunez playing as a No 10.
You'd be pushing Akpom/ Azon out of the squad completely and paying a huge January price to do so.
As much as it might be flashy for us fans, practically speaking it makes no sense for KM or the club.

Watching the highlights today and the fantastic breaks out of defence Morsy would be no good for that type of play. I believe there has been since our slightly stuttering start to the season where despite sometimes a 70% possession we failed to win some games we have changed a bit to allow other teams to come on to us allowing them greater possession and then breaking quickly. With a tad more composure we could have had a couple more goals last night. | | | |

But the point is that Akpom and Azon just wouldn't play at all.
You'd have two strikers as well as Nunez & Szmods.
And with Akpom having a £7M clause to sign him if we go up, they're not just going to leave him out of the squad for the next 6 months.

Lewis Travis would have been ideal for that role. Cheap as chips and knew the system. I'm surprised we didn't go for him or somebody similar to cover Matusiwa. Maybe KM thought that Cajuste could fill that role but he doesn't appear robust enough and he has ben very good in an attacking role when brought on recently. | |

Baggott is presumably backup if we get an injury to Kipre, O'Shea or Greaves unless Furlong fills in?
