| Interviewed 3 people for a job today 18:30 - Dec 16 with 1856 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Was waiting for Jeremy Beadle to pop out. 1st guy answered every question in the formal interview with a powerpoint slide show. He literally had thousands of them, we'd ask a question and then he'd scroll through all of them to find one that answered the question. 2nd guy did his 10 minute presentation, and over ran by 15 minutes, even though I had warned him on 8 minutes that he only had 2 minutes left. 3rd guy announced his arrival by apologising for his outfit, but that he had flown in from Kazakhstan this morning and Turkish Airlines had lost his luggage. I should write a sit-com | |

| Interviewed 3 people for a job today on 20:45 - Dec 16 by PhilTWTD | I interviewed people for a job in a non-TWTD role some years ago and realised nothing increases one's own confidence about one's own approach to interviews than interviewing other people. Not sure anyone was quite like your candidates, but we had people who, for a website job, had never so much as even looked at the website they'd be working on. |
It is pretty eye opening to be on the other side of the table isn't it? Does make you feel a lot more confident for the next time you're in that situation. | |

| Interviewed 3 people for a job today on 08:22 - Dec 17 with 40 views | BloomBlue | 3 males and no females, good to see some people following Donald Trump and diversity sucks, 'right person for the right job'. Although, you did throw in a token foreigner. Only joking. I lost count of the idiots I've had in interviews, although I retired years ago, and it sounds like nothing has improved. One of my favourite was a kid who told me he would double the value of the company in 12 months - this was a multi million company already. Given he had just come out of Uni I asked for evidence, he then presented a list of items he had sold for profit at car boot sales. He then continued talking about his ideas about investments, I had to stop him and say 'this job is an IT role, not a Trader role'. He said "not a problem, he would only be in the job for 2 weeks and then secure a trader job". So I had to ask "then why dont you apply for a trader job?" - he looked at me blankly at that point. Uni types, they do lack commonsense. | | | |
