As always, and it's the same with managers, players et al. I'm far less interested in their words and more interested in their actions.

It is all a bit 'corporate' in terms of language, no question. Hard to argue he (and the wider owners) aren't doing their part.

E.g. ‘double pivot’. We called those defensive midfielders not so long ago, and before that midfielders or the number 6. I first noticed the buzzword trend with ‘jockeying’; it was heard everywhere and then never mentioned again.

Fanbase - you beat me to it. Only when we have a stadium with a capacity of around 900,000 for the whole of Suffolk, a few expats, a bunch of Fortuna fans and a bunch of Dutch people with fond memories of 80's football to attend matches together, will the word fanbase be used correctly most of the time.

Bloody hell. Not asking for immortality but not being unlawfully killed is a fairly basic request.

| Your Hated Football Words on 15:25 - Dec 18 with 2128 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Bowyer, Chopra and Thatcher, in that order. I wouldn't even speak to any of them if I was in the same room as them, whereas I would happily have a bit of a laugh with Iwan Roberts or Grant Holt. Maybe even Chris Sutton, in order to remind him of the time Terry Butcher put him on his backside. I would draw the line at Eadie, Bellamy and Huckerby, though. | | | |
