Another very grim incident for the United States. And one already polarising in a way that is quite remarkable and grotesque to behold.
No one knows the full facts as yet. Just that a 37 year old mother has been shot in the head. Why call her a ‘professional agitator’ or ‘domestic terrorist’ almost immediately, before her family have even been told. How about reflection on a sad loss of life.
Just for once, take a breath, have some compassion. There may well be mitigating circumstances, it’s too early. Not everything is points scoring and belligerence.

I've seen people on here and other places mocked for being hysterical about Trump, or told that they are basically indoctrinated by the media channels they take in, but it's time to stop down playing what is happening.
Trump is evil and dangerous. The people he is surrounded by are evil and dangerous. We see increasingly bleak examples of it on a daily basis.
Governments, including ours, need to stand up to him rather than pandering to him.

With regard to your last sentence, I'd think that the post-truth nature of unvalidated 'journalism' along with the ability to generate fake video, already effectively indistinguishable from reality to many people, means that recovery from the pit of despair we're sinking into now is going to require something quite different.
Not sure what area that 'different' is in, but the likes of Tr*mp and his cabal of scum have already destroyed the partially effective regulating ability of 20th century journalism with their willingness to stand and lie. I don't see how the grip they have - particularly on the poorly educated and people who grown up with nothing but lies and misinformation to form their opinions upon - will slacken without a massive shock to the system.

Yes, I saw that they prevented a doctor from attending the scene immediately and wouldn’t let arriving medics through for 15 mins either. It’s beyond disgusting. The Feds now are spinning the same lie about the double shooting overnight in Portland OR. Portland’s authorities are strongly disputing the Fed’s claim it was a hit and run attempt.
I just hope that one day Trump and his cronies and the violent ICE agents face justice, but I’m not holding my breath. How much more are they going to torch before the mid-terms in case they lose their majority and Trump risks being impeached?
(The X issue won’t be going away any time soon either. They need that site for the spread of their propaganda. It’ll be an interesting test of where UK/EU government’s loyalties lie: to safeguarding or to money/power.
