Depending on tonight's result 10:07 - Jan 16 with 1623 viewsmuccletonjoe

We could find ourselves 5 points behind Middlesborough. West Brom are needing points for a very different reason these days so it won't be easy, but if we do go against Blackburn in that position, I have every confidence in the third meeting of the season turning out in our favour.
It will then keep the pressure on them in mid week.

Hoping for a new manager bounce from West Brom.

Be nice to go into that run of 5 away games with as much over Boro as we can

Be even more pressure if they fail to win tonight and we are 2/3 points behind them with two games in hand.

We can't let that bother us - it's out of our control.

If Boro win, there's nothing we could have done about it as we didn't play.

If we then fail to win tomorrow, that's the time to be annoyed about it.

I feel this has when we have been at our best this season. We had a bit of a ropey start and were miles off but in typical Mckenna fashion, we have just focused on us rather than others and it has all fallen in to place. I'd imagine that will carry on and we need the fans to do similar. There will be plenty of twists to come yet!

Realistically it won’t be 5 consecutive games away as the Hull hone game is likely to be played on 16th February.

It would be unwise to push the game back further as both teams have a chance of being involved in 5th round cup game on 7th March which would lead to another game being rearranged. We are scheduled to play Leicester at home on 7th and Stoke on 10th.

Dont worry about what others are doing when we're not playing.

Agree - only our results matter. Was the same in our promotion season, only now we are the chasers and not the chased!

Fine to discuss it though no? I've enjoyed checking on our rivals in the past few seasons. Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth, Leeds, Southampton etc. Better than finishing 15th every season and not really caring what else is going on in the division.

We also may find ourselves only 2 points behind Middlesbrough with 2 games in hand . . . all sides need points and want to win for different reasons.

Last time you had a pre-emptive blub like this, we absolutely walloped the league leaders away. So, I fully expect us to somehow GAIN points tonight as a result.

Ffs, here we go again.

We were 8 points behind a couple of months ago and still made up the points and went above them.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…
