He is your typical Reform supporter and, if polls are to believed, there are enough of them around that we need to take notice. How they can honestly believe Farage will ever act in their interests is beyond me but they do.

Depends what’s most important to them. Farage satisfies the primal need of the ignorant to have someone foreign to blame for their inferiority. In some cases that’s clearly all he needs to do to ensure their vote. Pitiful and frightening in equal measure. [Post edited 21 Jan 23:56]

They put that above the need for the NHS, functioning public services and a country secure from Russian influence. Or they simply dismiss everything Farage quite openly stands for as "project fear". I think it shows the power of the media to influence people. When every day the news is obsessed with small boats, "the immigrant problem" and everything surrounding it, is it surprising people become worried about "the immigrant problem"?

| Excellent speech from Starmer on Greenland on 20:34 - Jan 21 by Bigalhunter | Don’t be so silly. Well reasoned and evidenced points outlining exactly what it is you hate about them won’t get you banned. It will help immensely if you could actually explain your thinking rather than just curling off a big poo on the rug and expecting a pat on the head because you’re a good boy who’d be great company to share a water bowl and a couple of treats with. This is your big chance, don’t waste it because you’re a little bit shy about others judging you. For goodness sake man, it’s not like you’re a racist with odiously outdated prejudices and wholly baseless views and opinions is it? Floor’s yours…. [Post edited 21 Jan 20:58]

The thing that really frustrates me is, you can put a perfectly reasonable question like this, and then it's radio silence from them. They just run away without even attempting to articulate their thoughts.

Unfortunately Al I'm not sure Reform voters can be explained away as easy as this. I wouldn't be surprised if roughly half my family and friends in the UK at this moment intend to vote Reform. They nearly all live on Haverhills Chalkstone and Parkway estates. Without being to rude, they are rundown sh1te holes. These places have been neglected by government after government. Now their supposed to just keep blindly voting for the blue or red team believing this time it's gonna be different? I don't believe for 1 second Farage gives a toss about the working class. But unfortunately neither does Starmer or the Tories. I would suggest that this vacuum as been filled by Farage and its up to the other parties to appeal to these people and suggest a way to improve their lot.

I agree. I think some people think they have nothing to lose so why not chance it? They will likely soon find out they were wrong when Farage dismantles the NHS and they need to buy health insurance. To other posters insulting Benters, he doesn't owe us an explanation so not sure calling him thick or racist is going to do anything but make him think f#ck you. Why would he reply to that?

You can’t argue with facts is your problem. I’m sure you’re happy in your little GB News/Daily Mail echo chamber, thinking that Farage, Tice et al are somehow on your side. Utterly deluded

yes, they need to do things that farage would never do:- continue improving the nhs continue to raise the minimum wage continue to increase taxes on the rich and close their tax loopholes continue to stand up to reform's paymasters in putin and trump continue to bring down energy bills through expanding cheap green generation they need to do more of this and keep banging on about it. obviously, they have to do this against a structural barrier backdrop of right-wing media and far right social media, which means they have to work harder. the other thing is to point out the constant lies and (wilful or otherwise) ignorance coming from farage and his supporters. what would your solution be to reach these people, or do you think there is none?

It's the same sh1t stirrer instigating this name calling. They had multiple threads deleted by admin over the weekend, kept their head down for a few days and came back with more of the same whilst offering absolutely nothing positive to the board. Eat, sleep, rave, repeat.

I don't think there is an easy or quick solution. I think generations of neglect as almost built a distinct culture in these places where they really don't trust or expect any government to help or even improve the situation. Personally I think that having opportunities to get out and improve your situation would help. I'd be looking at free education for people unemployed for certain amounts of time. Or training in a trade of some kind for anybody interested. Give people the belief that their circumstances could vastly improve may be a start. Argh, and tax the feck outta the supreme rich and redistribute it fairly wouldn't do Labour any harm.

And may God bless….. Oh wait Deuteronomy 10:18-19 – “God ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing. So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners.” Exodus 22:21 – “You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way.” Deuteronomy 24:17 – “True justice must be given to foreigners living among you and to orphans.” And of course, Joseph, of fighting age, fled to Egypt with his family, that included Jesus… Awkward…
