| Indefensible that on 18:07 - Jan 24 with 1903 views | Nutkins_Return | Don't be ridiculous. We weren't going to win or go unbeaten for the rest of the season. Sheffield United are a good team and still expect them to make a run for the playoffs but they may have left too much to do. After the first 10 games or so they've been in playoff form ever since. Just one of those days. We need to pick ourselves up and make sure we beat Preston. | |

“Don’t be ridiculous “ makes up a scenario I never said or even hinted at. Whereas you completely ignore everything said to spout some dismissive platitudes instead of acknowledging how bad today was. There’s losing and there’s another performance like today. Numerous players not putting a shift in is the issue. Nothing else was being discussed. They might be a good side but they didn’t show it today and we should be aiming to be better than coming up short than a “playoff side”.

| Indefensible that on 19:00 - Jan 24 with 1675 views | farkenhell | I thought we were in control for the first 10 minutes or so. Created a couple of chances and perhaps should have scored. Then we started to give the ball away time and time again. Handed the initiative to Sheffield United, who grew in confidence. Conceded two poor goals and bad timing for the second one. Carried on as we left off at the beginning of the second half. The 3 subs had an immediate impact and we grabbed a goal back. But we didn't build on that. The 3rd goal killed us off. Too many bad performances all over the pitch as you say. We looked sluggish throughout and probably made them look better than they were. | | | |

That's a tad unfair. It was an extremely disappointing and underwhelming performance from the whole team.

Quite, they had two off the line essentially too and put us under pressure more than once without us really reacting to it well enough. SWE on the right is unfair on the lad, he’s getting minutes but he’s too slow and predictable out there and looking lost again. Taylor was abysmal and greaves error prone which you can understand, but he offers no outlet down the wing. When Matusiwa looks bad you know it’s a bad performance. But assuming Szmodics is off it might be for the best. He played like he’d fallen out with Hirst too

| Indefensible that on 19:07 - Jan 24 with 1603 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Yeah, in a mates group message, I said I thought it was dreadful today like worst I’ve seen us this season bad at times. Touch was terrible, chances fluffed, bullied in midfield, constantly giving the ball away, slow to react, the list goes on. Maybe others think it wasn't as bad but I hated the game today. I’m sure it’s a combination of things, some injuries, missed chances (that were errors from them in the main) and the opposition being in your face but it’s just a burn the tape game and move on for me. Plenty of evidence for the last few months to suggest we will be fine but we do need to pick it up on the road at times. | |

To be honest, the little partnerships that have been forming nicely seemed to disappear today. Egele & Furlong, Matusiwa & Taylor, Clarke & Greaves, as well as Hirst & Szmodics. We definitely missed Nunez. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| Indefensible that on 19:33 - Jan 24 with 1375 views | Steve_M | Yeah, it was sh1t. Very few players managed even average performances, too many errors and a lack of composure. Sheffield United dragged the game down to a battle and then played after winning that. As with Leicester going in only 1-0 down at half-time would have kept us in the game, instead a truly dreadful goal to make the second half hard work. Need to improve in this run if away matches if we want to be top two. | |

| Indefensible that on 19:39 - Jan 24 with 1331 views | budgiebasher | I agree. I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say that today’s performance was unacceptable. We can’t really afford any repeats of those levels if we are to get promoted. Away form and inability to come back after going down a concern. Speaks of a deficiency of leadership/character maybe? | |

Hmmm … but Coventry aside … Away: Oxford, Blackburn, Leicester, Sheffield. Not good enough.

That's exactly how I saw it too. We were too sloppy and it cost us.

It’s really frustrating how we get dragged into a midfield battle so many times against rubbish teams and don’t compete. Taylor is so susceptible to it and if Cajuste doesn’t have an outlet he can be too. I’m guessing Szmodics goes this week and we have some more bodies in. Hirst was bad today but he’s got no one to hold it up for and no one running off him. We seem to have fans turning on individuals (if Mcateer played like SWE today he’d have been crucified) and others completely blind to when this team loses all sense of self. The lack of familiarity and partnerships really costs us in games like this.

| Indefensible that on 09:53 - Jan 25 with 503 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | I do find it strange that, in general, when a fan's team loses, you hear plenty about what their team did wrong, but very little about what the other team did right. We have been a superb pressing team in many matches recently, and this is the first time I have seen a side properly giving us a taste of our own medicine this season. The Blades press was relentless and superb. Yes, we were off form, but that was very much magnified by an excellent performance by Sheffield United. If that second goal hadn't been conceded in the dying embers of the first half, it could have been a different outcome, but most probably we would still have drawn or lost, imo. | |

That's every away match dominant for first ten minutes, One misplaced pass one shot the game turns opposition score end of, Coventry being the exception a brilliant display,
