He accidently kicked the scorer in the face studs up.

Don’t know if the booking was for that though as referee never did anything until after the melee, may have been booked for the two handed push but no Sheff U players booked for some reason. Referee was quite weak in controlling them but a different approach for us.

I was amazed the ref ended up sending Bamford off, and not just because I missed the first yellow, given how much he let them get away with all game.

The ref was dreadful in the first half especially. Allowed them to get away with a fair bit, such as the elbow on Kipre.

I full expected him to point to the spot and send Walton off when he went to whistle for it.

I was ready to walk with him.

It looked like he was going over to check O Hare was alright which wound up a load of their players.

Thanks.

That makes much more sense, particularly when the collision with O'Hare was accidental.

O'Hare was nudged and fell face first into Walton's dangling foot.

The yellow was definitely for Walton pushing the Shef Utd players. Seemed like he though O'Hare was milking it somewhat and told him to get up.

Elbows seem fine these days. You can’t upset a ref’s ego by questioning a decision though.

I’m sure Walton’s was for him going over to the player afterwards and not the challenge. I don’t know whether he was trying to pull him up or suggesting their player made a meal of it (he didn’t) but the SU players clearly took exception. I’m surprised they didn’t get a booking too for the reaction. Normally handbags end up with a booking for each party.

Being fair, as the ref started to lose control, I'm not sure that even he knew who he was and wasn't booking. I'm surprised he didn't book his assistant for encroaching on the pitch or Kipre for throwing his chin on to the Blunt players elbow

What was the opinion of those watching on TV when O'Shea was penalised at one of our corners, where it looked in real time that Hamer had rugby tackled him? Ref gave them a free kick but it didn't appear that O'Shea did anything other than try to move. Haven't seen it in any highlights since to form a better judgement.

Ref gives Bamford a red in the dying moments of the match when the result was pretty much beyond doubt.

This allows the ref to deflect any accusation of bias without changing anything

Ref was very poor

Yep Hamer was absolutely all over him but because Dara shrugs him off and Hamer ends up on the ground first that's apparently a foul.

That's how it looked from where I was standing, not that far away, in fact I said similar to Pendejo at the time.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Caught him in the head, didn't he? Not sure whether accidental or on purpose but seemed to catch him with the underside of his studs. Fourth official seemed to stop the physio from coming on even though the ref had waved.

Definitely on purpose. There is an additional movement toward his head.

Then, after the fourth official stopped the physio from coming on, the ref sent Furlong to the byline even though they never entered the pitch.

Do they even still have referee assessors?

There should be a colour beyond red for Seriki's running elbow onto oncoming Kipre. Borderline GBH. Ref was sold hook, line, and sinker by Seriki's dive and rolling-around after committing assault. VAR would have sent him off, unquestionably. Replay shows Seriki watched his elbow onto Kipre's jaw/neck the whole way. Knew exactly what he was doing:

Was 0-0 at the time, and we'd had the best of the game until then. Moments like these can change a game.

Fans need to decide: us (usually the better team) winning more games of football, or refuse VAR. I'd prefer justice and the former.

Davis foul on Szmodics, Bamford foul on Clarke both worthy of a booking. Striking dive in the box was spotted but no booking. 4 mind stoppage for Kipre injury, si ilar for O'Hare and subsequent melee & Wilder yapping. Various other run of the mill stoppages and he gives 4 minutes added time. We were beaten of course but his officiating was appalling.
