Tbh it would surely be better for us longer term as well to make it perm, after all I wouldnt like to think that Neil comes in does really well then leaves in the summer, it'll be good to get a good partnership going

With the apparent interest from West Ham and Rangers, perhaps Neil wasn't prepared to commit to a longer-term deal whilst not knowing what division Town will be playing in next season?
If we don't get promoted, given the other interest, he may feel that he could get top-division football elsewhere in the summer, alongside a decent signing-on fee. | |

I mean how much are they really going to get........Not a lot. They can get his wages off the wages bill and get a bit of a loan fee.
He's been there a fair while so i'm guessing its just a good deed. £1m to Sunderland at the moment isn't worth worrying/arguing about, for a player they clearly don't want. | | | |
