What sport would you like to get into (as a follower or supporter) but just can't!

I

Another vote for rugby.

I’ll watch it in small doses on tv and there’ll be another whistle for some random reason. It’s like Keith Stroud on steroids, but at least the tv cameras can zoom in on the action so you can see the ball.

I’ve been to St Jo’s Rugby Festival once and when the ball is buried under a pile of players, it’s impossible to follow and just looks like a load of people rolling around on the floor.

Agree. I think most people who are into it played it at school and it's more nostalgia than actual sporting interest.

I know that was then, but it could be again..
Poll: At present who do you think you'll vote for?

Tennis. I understand it but just can't summon up any sort of interest. The athleticism and stamina is remarkable but it's as dull as ditchwater to watch.

Three years ago, I'd have said the same about American football but having watched a couple of Netflix docs on quarterbacks and receivers, I've really grown to get a better appreciation of the strategy and physical and mental skill of the players. Really looking forward to watching the Super Bowl tonight.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
Poll: Which recent triallist should we have signed?

We moved down under 12 years ago. Went to a few Aussie Rules games and genuinely had no idea what was going on other than the basics. There’s 2-3 quite unique rules related to tackling that made it seem like the umpires were just blowing for free kicks randomly. But after watching a few YouTube clips on the rules and then a few games on TV it all started to make sense. Now going into my eighth season as a season ticket holder with Fremantle and I’m buzzing that the season start is just a few weeks away.

As you say, it requires supreme athleticism. Last season Kulusevski from Spurs ran the furthest average distance per game at 7.7m/12.3km per game. In Aussie Rules at least 10 players per team will run further than that per game, as well as being rugby tackled 12-14 times, having to accurately kick and catch a large oval ball multiple times. What they do is incredible

I hate to say it but football seems quite mundane in comparison.

But back on subject - Rugby Union - most boring sport in the world.

Ah, my brother has lived in Perth since 2011, and he loves going to watch the dockers with his family, though they don't have season tickets. The go to lots of different sports - cricket, men's football, women's football, rugby, too.

Great place to live full stop, but the sport scene is great.

Poll: Which Manchester team do you dislike the most?

NFL. Bores me to tears. A sport almost designed to sell hotdogs and adverts. Can play ok as a highlights package but I just want my sports free flowing. Have been to seen live and they go all out as a spectacle but when the spectacle is a stop start affair it's not for me.

Not a lover of VAR I guess. Making football a stop start eventually
m loving championship. Ball hits the net and a quick look to check no lino flag, then you can celebrate. Prem unfortunately kills the fun of scoring. A perfect looking goal goes in a bar have to check that the stickers has no outstanding points on his car licence, this invoking the 'he shouldn't have been on the pitch" rule.

American Football. Can’t believe how long it takes to finish a match.
F1, tedious doesn’t begin to describe it.

Hurling, shinty and Gaelic Football all look great and could do with more coverage on the tellybox

Never understood why lacrosse is never shown on there either.

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

American sports are guff. I used to live in New York and I’d get dragged to watch the Yankees play baseball, which is absolutely dire. NFL is marginally more watchable but still crap, and basketball is pony as well.

This side of the pond I would have to say F1. Does nothing for me at all.

I'm a huge baseball fan, I think it's a magnificent sport, right up with football and cricket for me. I watch about fifty games a year I reckon. I have never been able to get into basketball much though, and now my kids are all crazy about it. I really struggle to tell when people are breaking the rules for travelling or double dribble unless I focus like it's exam conditions, but the kids are starting to just see it intuitively. Maybe I'm just too old... Starting to enjoy watching them play though!

Basketball. Very tall people sweating and squidging away for an hour, 100s of points, home team wins by two. I’ve seen a lot of it in the US and find it terminally boring. The worst.

Ice skating - zzz. Darts - one dimensional. I’m told it’s brilliant to see live not least because most of the audience is crazy and p£ssed. Marathon running. Two hours of rangy people looking miserable. It only becomes fun if it’s a very hot day and a few start wobbling towards the finish line.

Horse racing = dull dull dull, both on tv and in the horseflesh. Tennis: I admire the skill and strength of it but don’t find it watchable.

NFL, Baseball, Ice Hockey - all good. Skiing, golf, Cricket, athletics, track cycling - thumbs up. Rugby is odd. I loved playing it but dislike watching it.

Speedway.

As Carl Fogerty said "60mph, no brakes....how is it boring?!"

Also horse racing or any other sport requiring animal cruelty
