I do feel this approach in the championship is more of a winning formula. You’re never out of a game where as now because we’re a lot slower in our approach land feel as if we go 1-0 down, we’re not going to win.

Lampard was arrogant enough to try it and copped a 4-1, 3-0, 2-0 in the space of 10 months last year.

I think KM’s gone for a different approach this season after what happened last time round in the PL.
Nowhere near Burnley levels of pragmatism but we’re not as exciting to watch as Middlesbrough.
If we both go up, it’ll be very interesting to see which approach yields the greater rewards next season. [Post edited 9 Feb 21:10]

We’re our own worst enemies. We try and control a game of football in our own half or on the half way line. Boro are direct and look forward with every pass and want to control the game on the top 1/3 of the pitch
Football isn’t won by who plays the best football, it’s won by outscoring your opponents.
I’d rather boros midfield than ours all day long. Matusiwa does the dirty side of the game well but is pretty ordinary on the ball if we’re being honest.
Watching this game has been a joy and if we’re all being honest, wished this is how we played. I do feel as if we we have taken a step backwards with our approach to games this season controversially | | | |

It’s the pace that Boro move the ball I think. They didn’t give us as much space because we constantly give teams time to get set in their defensive shape. |  |

I think that’s true, though possibly he came to that pragmatic decision because we didn’t get who we wanted through the door last summer - most of all Hackney. [Post edited 9 Feb 21:50]
