Get over yourselves. Open your eyes and realise our priority is promotion - that’s all that matters. The team selection shows that, the result matters not, and if we go up, none of you will care one iota about last night.

Go look up the last time a non-Premier League side won the FA Cup. Stop scrambling around looking for reasons to moan every week and get off your high horses. So much entitlement, so little perspective.

Roll on next week. Uppa Town.

Could not agree more.
Glad that we can now "concentrate on the league".
This is no time for cups.

Absolutely, no point worrying about one defeat when we could have 25 or more to look forward to if we gain promotion…😂

I think it's probably okay to be disappointed at going out of the FA cup to a team in a lower league placing

The result is one thing. But another poor performance is just genuinely disappointing and people are okay to express that. Some reactions are a bit OTT but our disjointedness is hard to take

Come back after next week’s result against Wrexham. I wish I had your confidence going into that game, our league away record is far from convincing that we will roll them over next week. We’ve been bang average away from Portman Road, if promotion is the aim.

Disappointment with the result and performance last night is fine, though with the context it was a second 11 from us, but a lot of the whining since the game is more wide ranging than that.

Last night, the result, performance, anything about it, is of no relevance at all to the league performances beforehand (which have been mostly good) nor those to come.

We might still lose next week, course - but going out of the cup isn’t about that. It’s about already having an extra game to play versus Portsmouth, and all the disruption of fixtures moving for the next round etc. Like Kieran said, 9 games in 4 weeks - we don’t need more (pointless) fixtures.

People keep saying second 11 , reserves team, I really don’t buy that, apart From baggot, it was the same players we rotate weekly. Why cant everyone just agree it was a terrible Performance, the rose tinted glasses brigade are almost As bad as the ridiculously OTT end of the world Brigade. We were crap, we must do better.!! Fingers crossed we up our game next week, and the remainder of
The season.

Of course it should be fine to express disappointment about the result and performance last night, especially if you spent time, money and effort to witness it. I think it would be fair to expect better from a squad that theoretically is being prepared for a proper go at the Premier League.
Not sure what annoys me most tbf, over the top negativity or pointless, divisive threads like this, maybe I'm just a precious, little pansy though!

Apart from Kipre, none of that team have been a regular first 11 player in the last month or two.

Closest to it would be:

Cajuste - largely second fiddle to Taylor, and we all largely agree that he flatters to deceive
Egeli - seems to be horribly out of form, and now Burns is fit is sitting out
Hirst - Bang out of form and most would agree second choice to Azon at the moment.

Agree that in isolation last night’s result is immaterial to our season.

My only worry is that if we end up in the playoffs, these are more like cup games and we don’t have a good track record in those.

If you are winning games and confidence is high amongst the squad you don’t mind playing extra games. In fact, you prefer playing matches than training. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to agree with you on this topic. Last night’s performance was poor, there’s no escaping from that, I just worry the precedent that sets amongst the squad.

I agree, if we end up in the PlayOffs we'll definitely approach the games in the same way we've approached cup games for trophies that we are unlikely to win. Do you think when he rests Davis he'll play Baggott or Greaves at left back?

I’ve never liked the idea of making so many changes as it means a lost opportunity to develop the squad. You end up with a disjointed performance and it does impact on the players.

How many of those who started fear they won’t be here if we gain promotion.

McKenna gave up last night not a pretty sight. Have a feeling that any fans there, who also made the trip in 1995, will feel the same today as they did 31 years ago.

If people there last night and watched us lose to a fellow Championship side feel the same as when we watched Premier League Ipswich lose to then League One Wrexham, then they need to take some time off football.

As much as I hate a Town defeat in any match, I’m none too disappointed.
It’s now 100% focus on promotion come May.

If we were to name our strongest XI for the game next week, only Kipre of last night's starters would be in it. That's very much a second XI. Yes, individually most of those players have played a decent amount of football either off the bench or rotating in when we've got midweek games. But that XI would not be starting together in a league game unless half the squad was injured.
